$1.5 billion in revenue, but company cuts hours across the board. Miraculously all managers and above still have their regular shifts

Title says it all. I've worked for this company for 3 years, it genuinely sucks the soul from body every time I clock in, but I can't leave, as I do enjoy housing and frivolous things such as food and electricity. Trust me, I'm doing my best to find a new job. Most full time sales associates 6 months ago would get around 30 hours a week, not the best but not the worst. The cost of living is skyrocketing, our wages for the hours we manage to scrape up have stagnated, and now that the powers have be have slashed our labour budget, when we are at work, we are extremely understaffed and can barely cope. Obviously I don't mind working hard at all, but when I've put in blood, sweat and literal tears, I'd expect to make enough money to pay my damn rent.

One thing I've noticed about this new and innovative schedule is that all upper management have a nice 37.5 hour work week, and of course they've all tried to sympathise with us about the cut in hours. Just stop.

I'd almost prefer it if they rubbed it in my face, the fake sympathy and 'we're all in this together' attitude somehow makes it all even worse.
