This swine of a company West Marine reopened in April 2020, and tried to force everyone back to work with the threat of ratting out those who refuse to the state unemployment agencies.
I was not about to let myself be forced into risking my life serving rich boaters.
So seeing this trap, I did what any antiwork person would do. I “developed” covid like symptoms, including authentic looking covid rash.
Then I spoke to the HR person, and said, I really would like to come back to work, when and if I feel better.
I was given covid leave, which enabled me to avoid being forced back into that god awful slave wage job.
This allowed me to remain qualified for unemployment during the entire time pandemic unemployment benefits were available in my state.
