16 hour first day, quit the next.

First day on the job about a half a month ago, me and my brother were sent out in record breaking heat in Texas (108°) and no training for a 16 hour shift. The job was driving a 26' box truck delivering cabinet sets (average 11 cabinets per house) to new home builds. This of course exhausted us physically and we were expected to pull another 15+ hour shift in the same heat with upcoming days that will most likely involve 12+ hour shifts. The 2nd day we were on hour 6 when we decided to call it a day before we push ourselves too much. Instead of working with us and handling the issue he caused, the warehouse manager had the COO speak to us. The co owner's reaction was to make a joke about my exercise habits and proceeded to try and keep us working despite our health,…

The co owner's reaction was to make a joke about my exercise habits and proceeded to try and keep us working despite our health, mind you im fairly athletic at 23, so this work isn't new to me. After waiting for an hour for them to reach back out and let us know what to do next I was told to leave the truck there for another team to grab (we had no ride home and were 1 1/2 hours away from our vehicles). After waiting another 30 minutes with no response, we decided to just drive the box truck back to the office because my heart was acting up (guess I need to do more cardio). We just wanted to quit and leave with no problems because we were ones who were screwed over, however their warehouse supervisor started freaking out. He kept getting in our faces, screaming and threatening us because he has to finish our route. We then grabbed our dolly (which the company never provided) and he came at me to try and steal it back physically. Luckily me and my brother are bigger gentlemen and he backed off. Although with the way my heart was acting he very well would have pushed me beyond my physical limits and there were 3 management personnel who watched all of this go down with their eyes facing the ground.

Ps. Me and brother recently had a lost in the family and had bills coming up. This job was our only source of income at the time and we gave more patience than we should because of that.
