2 companies 2 drastically different interviews

I had an interview with company 1 about a month ago that went really well and I clicked with the team members that I interviewed with and they said they normally pay a higher rate than what I was requesting and even advised me to change my requested amount. The representative for that company stayed in contact and kept me updated on where they were in the process of reviewing my candidacy over the month or so that they were considering me. I had another interview last week with company 2 and it was a world of difference between them, from the very start the company seemed pretentious. The representative was rude and spoke to me like I was lesser than him and it sounded like he really didn’t like me and the way he acted I didn’t like him much either. I had another interview last week with company 2 and it was a world of difference between them, from the very start the company seemed pretentious. The representative was rude and spoke to me like I was lesser than him and it sounded like he really didn’t like me and the way he acted I didn’t like him much either. Overall it reminded me of a bigger version of a place I worked at in 2020 that just completely sucked and payed me way less than the work I put in. I told my wife that even if they offered a position I would be turning it down because the way things went and how they seemed.

So company 1 called the day after the interview with company 2 and offered me a position with great benefits and higher pay than expected and after talking to my wife I accepted. The very next day after that company 2 texted with an offer which was shocking considering I had just interviewed and the way the interviewer acted I figured I’d never hear from them, plus it was a text which was odd.

Also company 2 had a name that is the phonetic spelling of an acronym that is their actual name which was not put out on their website or on their LinkedIn page. The interviewer seemed to get so offended at me pronouncing it the way it looked like it was spelled as one word and not the way it was supposed to be pronounced as three letters despite those three letters having never been brought up. On top of that they used acronyms for everything and acted like I should already know those acronyms and kept being mad that my college had failed to teach me any of the terms they were using. These were not common terms even in the specific job field that I was looking for work in.

I’m really glad I found a place that so far seems to have a good culture and that pays more than I was looking for with company 1, but man did company 2 just put a sour taste in my mouth.
