“Mental health” training
Nobody needs training to remind them of what they like to do to relax. People are overworked, underpaid, and subsequently have no time or energy to pursue what they love. To reframe that as “employees need mental health coaching” is victim blaming. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
My boss yelled at me and told me I was embarrassing him for sitting down after having really bad acid reflux all day and trying not to puke my guts out. I work as a security guard for a garbage company and the owner is an idiot. He was also pissed that I was looking at my phone (I was trying to get some money to gopuff some antacids since I ran out of my prescription). They passive aggressively sent me home to think about what I did wrong and to never embarrass his dumbass again. Jokes on you chuckle-fuck I already have a different job lined up with a better boss who basically will let me do whatever I please as long as the work gets done. The guy routinely messes with paychecks and commits tax fraud. I'm going to report him to every federal, state and local agency.
Just a fact
Living on Benefits
Repost because the last time I tried to post, my account wasn't old enough. Disclaimer: I live in the UK, so our benefits system works differently to the Americans'. Throwaway account for reasons that will soon become clear. I saw the post a little while ago that reached the popular tab about the person exploiting the system to get out of work and now sits around playing video games all day, and it's made me doubt myself a little. I have autism and a few other mental health conditions that stem from it that would make it almost impossible for me to find a work environment that can accommodate my needs, and as a result, my work coach has made it so that I don't need to look for work at all. I feel so much freer than I did when I was on full-time education, and I've enjoyed life…
How do I sue my former workplace?
So I've been working at a supermarket deli for 6 months now, going on my last week there. Since I started we've had 4-7 people at a time because new people come and leave in under a week, without even saying anything, just disappear. At four people all we have is 2 openers, 2 closers. A lot of us worked 7 day weeks, even back to back for 14 days in a row. I know employees can consent to not having a day off but we were never even asked, just expected to do it. The work is physically intense, the pay is the same as cashiers (min), we're all expected to be full time even if you've voiced your concerns about being a student. My boyfriend and I coming in at the right time is the only reason that place is still running or they would have only had…
