Do I need to give a two week's notice? I work at a minimum wage job (to keep things vague) and they keep telling me to stop talking about certain things at work, but there's no possible way they could have known wat I was talking about and the person I talked to definitely didn't say anything, so I'm pretty sure the cameras at work have mics and they're listening to what I'm talking about. I'm really trying to not be paranoid about this, but there's actually no way that they would have known. I have work tmrrw morning, so I'll probably do the shift, but if I called the owner and let them know I was quitting would that be wrong? I really don't want to spend more time at a place I have to be on my toes about anything I talk about.

Average earnings
Americans: lost of posts about how hard it is to earn and stay afloat in our capitalist system… Curious how much y’all earn annually- don’t respond if not comfortable; just want to benchmark where everyone is at since lots of posts are about the struggle in US
How to work with gentrification?
I live in the suburbs of Atlanta, and the rich people have rapidly bought up all the property in town and are encroaching my area outside of town. I make $5k over the state average income and live 1 or two paychecks ahead. I pretty much consistently get a $1 raise every year, but an extra $40 a week means very little when my housing cost (rent) is through the roof. I’ve pick up a side job that I go to sometimes after my main job, so now I’m working around 50-55 hours a week. It would be foolish to get a loan to buy a house because the housing market is high as it is and due for a crash. Going to be forced to move to a low income area just to survive, but it would be much further from my main job and daycare would be extensively…
Trolled and then Fired
When I posted about my problems at work, not mentioning any names there was a troll who was very specific. I hope he is just good at his craft but it made me wonder if it was actually my boss, given that he paraphrased everything I'd said. “I'm not your bud, pal. Good job standing up for yourself. I hope you get fired”…and two hours later, I was.”
I work in corrections education and we have a pay discrepancy between teachers. We all must be certified, attend the same training, and even teach the same students. However some are paid significantly more on a teacher step. The full time teachers not on the step make thousands less. My coworker started a year before their counterpart who teaches the same subject at a different institution. My coworker makes 20,000 less a year because they aren't on the step. The teacher step recognizes experience and education level. For those who wondered 🙂 So my coworker called the superintendent and got the same song and dance we always get. “We're working on it”. This time it really stung because they are raising pay for inexperienced, new officers with just a diploma, to 48,800. That's a lot more than the non step teachers like us make. It's a non-union state, and although…

I hate my company. With an absolute passion, as I've realized no matter how much revenue I make them, they just don't give a sh**. I received amazing offers from 2 other companies, only to have both offers pulled this week because these 2 other companies have something in their contracts with my company that they can't hire anyone from my company without properly notifying my company in advance as part of their non-poaching policies. They didn't actively recruit me, I actively approached them when I saw that there were great next step opportunities at either of the 2 companies. Part of me wants to say F*** it, notify them, I really don't care, however, if something doesn't happen with either of these offers, my current employer will make my life into a much more living hell.
