Automation

There are quite a few post here saying how people have automated their job. What type of job do you guys have that's so easy to automate. If there was an automation tool to skip the “step 1 – and then I learned to program”, What would I feature for you?

After months of looking for remote work as a content writer. I accept an offer in Europe (expecting it to be better than an American one). And then I get this 3 days before I’m supposed to start. After signing the contract and 3-4 weeks of interviews and refusing other interviews. (Gmail translated)

What am I doing? What should I do?

Hello I am a 27 year old guy living in India, I work in a retail store. I barely make enough money to support myself and my side hustles. I don't have a college degree so I can't find a decent job to support myself better. But I don't understand what a college graduate can do which I cannot. I am trying to get out of this job but it's my only livelihood right now. I am also trying to start a e-commerce website to sell Custom PC builds and PC Components as well as Audio Video Equipment. I have registered my business and have been working on the website. But I cannot find the the time to do it dedicatedly to make any sales and generate some income. I also have 2 blogs which I haven't worked on for a while and a 2 youtube channels. I also am…

Why are we normalizing working unpaid overtime and painting it as a good thing?

Every interview I’ve had explains that it’s typical to work over 40 hours. I just had an interview today where the man told me that it’s typically more than 40 hours a week but “what you put in, you get better from it”. He said since it’s my early years of a job, that the extra work I put in will pay off. I don’t want to be working extra hours a week. And he didn’t even specify how much extra hours it could be. He said that he doesn’t mind if I worked only 40 hours but that it won’t be less beneficial? Am I ridiculous for thinking that’s bullshit excuse for working overtime?

A question I have

First let me just say that please dont delete this post mods, I'm not trying to be rude I'm just curious So, one thing I don't really understand is who should quit there jobs, because If everyone quits their job then I don't see how society can even function and if only you, or a few people quit then that means the rest has to take the burden, and that doesn't seem fair to me. Thanks to anyone who responds I greatly appreciate it

Why do ‘Pro work’ right wingers all use the exact same argument like a hive mind?

Every pro worker seems to believe all anti workers are poor. I make a decently high wage and hate my 9-5 life. Every pro worker says 'capitalism is the only successful system.' As half of the world makes less than 5 dollars per day Ever pro worker seems to think that if there aren't wage slaves, society will collapse. Hate to break it to you but 90% of jobs in America are unnecessary bullshit. Pizza hut doesn't need wage slaves for society to function. Pizza hut shouldn't exist if it requires slaves to run. Every pro worker seems to think that the ultra rich are tony stark like geniuses that deserve to have wage slaves. They seem to worship them like literal deities and truly believe that people should be forced to serve them. Every pro worker gets triggered by the term, 'wage slave' Even though real slaves…

This school can go to hell for their shitty rules and expectations

I needed somewhere to vent about this. I’m a long term sub because it has great flexibility and it pays pretty decent (California here, $275 a day for 7 hours). Well I got assigned a long term position which was awesome because it meant guaranteed work. Well the first day I get there the principal tells me “We don’t know where the kids left off but you have to come up with lesson plans regardless as that’s your job” okay…. So no guidance on what the kids are learning then? No clue whatsoever. Well I looked at past work and decided to go from there. I made a couple of worksheets for them just to get the ball rolling. The principal then tells me “oh that’s boring. Come up with something else or they may get a little angry and hard to control”…. Okay? What does that mean? Turns out…

I work 3 days a week.

I work on movie/commercial sets, i love my job, but its harsh. 12 hours a day is the minimum on set. Usually i work 15-18 hours per day, not including my commute to and from set.. It’s pretty much impossible to do it 5 days a week, but at least the pay is good to let me have 3 days of work and 4 days of rest. Sometimes they’re consecutive… then I really don’t trust myself on the wheel.. on weeks if i have more then 3 i ask production to fund a cab.. usually they do, but when they don’t I’d rather turn down the job or pay a friend to drive me.
