Under Trump there was a slow down in immigration into the US. The pandemic also did not help with the flow of immigration as much as the media tries to paint the “caravans of evil” to take yer jerb. So, IMO I belive that what we are seeing is a compounding of events where those lower wage workers who certain “groups” complain about are not there to fill those “unskilled” jobs. That's why there is a gap that cannot be explained. So now these types of businesses are waking up to the fact that they cannot exploit that work force because it has dried up. Edit: I do not believe that the average American will do the jobs that those who immigrate here for a better life will do. They deserve better and make up the foundation of the US economy. They should be treated with respect and have the…

Title says it all. Posted in r/teachers. I debated posted this here because I was thinking is this antiwork? And decided yes it is. Explanation below. https://www.reddit.com/r/Teachers/comments/t66g13/my_school_is_considering_going_to_a_4_day_school/hzbpndz/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3 I have students who are- refugees, laid off due to Covid and can’t find work still, battling cancer, lost jobs for other reasons, both parents or a single parent working two or three jobs and still can’t make enough thus leaving older siblings alone to watch younger siblings, yet people call them losers. What should I do let the kids go hungry and kick them too so the learn their lesson. A school district in Wisconsin pulled this same shit stopping the free lunch program because they didn’t want the parents and kids to “get spoiled”. They actually resumed it after public backlash. I am so sick if this idea that if you have food insecurities you are a loser or don’t work…
Who else loves to get high before work?
My job sucks ass and I get high throughout work to deal with this bullshit. I even have my own motto “gotta get stoned before you hop on the phones.” I say it all the time to my coworkers. Every here drinks and gets high to get through the day cuz we have to make 200+ calls a day, deal with tons of assholes and stress. My bosses know I get high before work and they don’t give a fuck as long as I do my job to their expectations. Ig im lucky, I feel bad for people who have to work shit jobs like mine completely sober seriously tho fuck Capitalism, fuck corporate America, fuck our shitty government for enabling corporate America to fuck us with their giant 12 inch dick.
Just curious about this. If I was working in an office, I would hate every minute of it and be anti-work as hell. But if I had my dream job as an MMA fighter, I would love work and never want to stop working. Does anyone else feel this way? And why or why not?
Ubereats.. enough said.
So I asked r/askreddit for tips and stories about interviews and received a lot of information. I asked the questions because I’ve been interviewing A LOT lately and was just genuinely curious about how others interview. Anyway, without veering into too much detail as to why I’ve been interviewing a lot lately I’ll get straight to the point. I think I’ve figured out the best tactic in order to get what you want out of a prospective employer, or just to be hired in general. And in a nutshell it’s to treat them a little bit like shit. It sounds juvenile, but it seems to be working for me. And I don’t mean treat them like shit as in walk in and tell them they’re an ugly piece of shit. I mean kind of like how you would picture a person in high school or maybe college that just sort…
For reference, we work in a long hall where people walk by. 50% of the time I don't have anything to do, but we aren't allowed phones in. What would you do?
Post the freaking company name!!
Why are people posting their grievances here and not putting the company on blast? That's the equivalent of dating a jerk in high school and complaining about it but not disclosing who it is. In my opinion it's very selfish and not helpful to this movement. Ok rant over. Good day! Edit: point being are we a collective of repressed workers who just want to”vent”. Or are we ready to do what it takes the system. I prefer to be part of the latter. Nobody likes a bunch of whiners with no sense of action.
