Month: March 2022
I am a resident physician at a “top” hospital in the US. We are not given any sick days. So any days missed will be taken out of our limited yearly vacation. Vacation is what I live for as a resident because of my insane work schedule. I have a bad cold right now, but went to work anyway to avoid being penalized and losing my precious vacation. Yet, I feel judged for being sick at work. You want cheap labor and the freedom to abuse residents? Well don’t be mad when I show up sick as a dog and give you what you asked for.
Can't wait to the day I don't have to work for anyone.
Horrible interview questions
Is anyone else getting frustrated by vague or hazy interview questions? I spent twenty minutes trying to figure out that the guy wanted to know if I had any experience tracking inventory. What’s up with the bush beating? Edit: Sorry if repost!!
Seems like there is no good answer to this question except asking how the answer helps determine your fit for the job you are interviewing for.
Maybe it's just me but I hate being told to just slog it out in life after graduating university and work different minimum wage and crappy entry level jobs I have little interest just for a chance to actually get a job that pays decently. Someone who went to university for 4 years shouldn't spend the next 4-10 years just trying to make it with no guarantee of success. I'm sick of being told by people who were able to succeed in their careers that it'll work out if I just keep trying. Life doesn't work out well for a lot of people. Moreover, even if it does, there's the opportunity cost and mental health costs of not having a secure source of income and job I don't hate for years. I guess it doesn't matter since I'll never be able to afford a house either way.
Company bucks
The company I work for “awards” everyone 10 company dollars a month. These can be used to build up and exchange for gift cards or other prizes or whatever Stupid but small bonus I guess but here is the kicker: You are not supposed to keep them you need to give them to other coworkers It’s like some HR teamwork bull shit? I went to pick mine up from their office which is how you get them every month and they asked if I’m sharing them i told them yea but I just kept them for now cause there are only two other people on my team one I cannot fucking stand no way she’s getting any token of support from me. The other id have no problem givinn to but… This is fucking weird right? Handing out toy money you “earn” and being forced or extremely encouraged to give…
It’s not really a dream, it’s just something I can do pretty well that pays well. That’s why I’m getting educated and doing more training. My dream is to have more money, get a golden retriever, go to the lake with my golden retriever on weekends, and play Minecraft. I like my job but I’m not in love with work lmao Also I just asked for a raise after being promoted to a new title. Why did I have to ask? Don’t be cheap with my labor
