Opinions on Corporate training?
You've seen it before, usually has a poster of some smiling, sparkle eyed fake employees. The video launches and you get some old guy in a suit who usually has a useless job like, “Ethics and compliance manager” who will proceed to lecture you for about 30 minutes on how we all need to do better for the company and how we need to, “Reflect” the company values. At the end you get a multiple choice quiz and if you fail you have to sit through the video again. I absolutely loathe corporate training, feels like I'm being lectured. What are your thoughts?
Very simple. If you refuse to accept money from the rich and not provide them products and services they lose their power.
Listen, I know it's hard to find a WFH job with a flexible schedule. That's why I'm taking my time. I already have a job that I'm very good at, and it's tolerable. I'm not in a rush…but I also don't want to waste my time (and yours) applying for positions that won't fit my needs. When you say the schedule is flexible, I assume that means that I can work nights and weekends. I need to work a mid-shift, and I need a permanent Saturday. If you're offering Monday through Friday 9-5 with the option of sometimes leaving for an hour and making it up later…that's not flexible. That's standard.
I used to be an electrician since people said there's a high demand and good pay. Well I started 3 bucks above minimum wage and did everything and anything I was asked in 95 degree weather or in the winter 37 degrees. And for all my hard work and doing overtime when “asked” I was laid off. I was actually happy. I hated the job, I hated the pay and hated that I had 2 hours of free time ( house chores basically) and thought “this system is fucked up”
I'm an electrician working for a big company. And it's the usual story… low wages, perks being taken away from us, spoke down to by managers, so on and so on. Finally had enough of someone profiting off my hard work and getting zero credit, so I'm going solo. There is so much work available out there and I will be able to get credit for all the work and keep all the profit and will hopefully be able to provide a better life for my family. I've been told my whole apprenticeship that I'm going to be on “big wages” when I'm qualified, that was one year ago. Now with the cost of living sky rocketing, my “big wages” are no longer very big… ask for a pay rise and you get laughed at. Tell them you are struggling to buy food, you get laughed at. Tell them you…
Somehow reminds me of this sub hmm
I’ve spoken to a lot of people at the airport we’re stranded at and the views on workers is changing. It’s gone from “can’t believe they all called off” to “can’t believe the airline treats them like that” Spread the word.
