Hey so I hope this warranted because I know there Is a lot of posts like this but my GF is a manager of a chain cafe and has been struggling with workload for at least since jan and also her Area Manager. Part of me wants to vent but I'm also looking for advice on either changing the workload/ area manager getting off her back So the most recent thing is that the AM won't allow to give more hours to staff but keeps saying to hire more because they are understaffed but how do you hire people and not give them hours? Anyway last Friday she opens store and someone calls in sick for close so she was told by AM to call every staff member on the system from every store in the state(4 stores) and no one can cover so she works the close aswell totaling…

I was working my 25 hours shift yesterday when my boss came to my office, pulled his pants down and said “deez wendy's Joe” and I said what and he said “ligma balls” and came all over my computer and papers, atleast 3 liters of cum, he told me to better clean that up in 3 minutes or he will send 5 muscular black men to beat me up, I couldn't do it and they beat me up “That's what you get for being a poor peasant and me being the big boss!”. Then I called my wife to pick me up but she said she isn't my wife and now is my bosses wife, also she said she aborted our 10 year old son, I hate KKKapitalism.

(Corporate America) Took a role dec of 21, moved across the country and began working. A few weeks in it was made clear that I would be responsible for additional duties outside of what the role typically entails (throughout the industry). Gave it over a year to attempt to adjust, it’s basically like 1.5 jobs as I’m doing my typical job plus someone else’s. Asked my direct manager for 2 min, he knew how I felt about the .5 job that I mentioned above, explained that the role and its duties are not right for me and I am putting in my notice. Sent an email to him, his boss as well as head of HR… generic separation email. Nothing wrong with the company or employees etc, they just started off with a smaller team decades ago and had employees doing several roles, they never fully adjusted duties to reflect…

I bet that by the time everyone is ready to pay the minimum wage of 15$, all the prices would equally be high so eventually ut would not matter. Like government wouldn't work on banning Pertrol/diesel cars untill all the big companies have smoothly transitioned to EVs. Or Wouldn't encourage renewable sources like solar, wind, etc till all the Big Oil companies run out of oil to sell. Or Wouldn't actually work on free healthcare till Big pharma companies find loopholes and/or another sources of earnings. To win an election you need money and if someone gives money to a politician to win, once they have won that politician is going to be a puppet to them. Thats why I feel like a “a right decision not taken at the right time, is still a wrong decision”.

There is no legitimate “compromise” to this crisis. Either cancel the loans, or don't. Anything else is political theater to delay, disrupt, and distract from the overwhelming problems we are experiencing. We are past the point of clever solutions and placating ideological obstructionists. Put up, or shut up.

When discussions arise around here regarding rent increases, sometimes I see people advising renters to purchase their own home so they will have a stable monthly payment that does not increase year after year. I think that only works if you live in an area of a country or the world that does not have rapidly -increasing property values that are taxed at higher and higher levels. We bought our house in 2016 and within a year, our monthly payment went up by almost $500 because they had based the escrow withholdings on older information and had to make up the difference twice withhold more because of updated appraisals. One year ago, we took advantage of low interest rates and refinanced. We were able to lower a monthly payment by $400, so almost to the same point that it was when we bought in late 2016. I work for a million dollar “market research company”, its a casual gig, call people, survey them, and go home. So I am on the 4th hour of my calling, I am meeting all the performance indicators (2 successful interviews/hr). The software calls up a random number, a woman picks up and says she isn't sure how much help she'll be to me, and that she is 94 year old living in an old age home. I tell her its okay (Idc how old the interviewee is, as long as they fit our quota). Eventually she tells me how her husband recently passed away, and about her kids living in another state, and overall starts sharing her life. Normally, they expect us to ask again if they want to do the interview, and if they continue sharing/talking to just apologise and hang up and move on the next call. But…
