I’ve been getting physical symptoms from stress due to the workload falling solely on my shoulders after my colleague left. My boss told me there would be no recruiting for a replacement I told her I really need a 2nd person. I’m mentally and physically exhausted but even when I take PTO I’m still exhausted because the work waits for me and builds up. I’m drowning with the inbox growing by 180 demanding emails everyday and I cannot cope alone with the volumes which previously needed 2 people to manage. Her response? I know crazy and controversial title. Now this isn't me supporting corporations either because they suck too. This post is about a small vet clinic I work at, which I'm hoping to get out of within the next month or sooner, where we had a good system going for quite some time. The owner was really cool and nice at the beginning of my time here, but she quickly became a nightmare as time went on. We would have people wait outside in their cars while we took care of the pet inside and had the vet talk to them over the phone. Simple and easy. Kept the very small staff safe from exposure. I work for a small Canadian company. I’m a highly skilled niche worker. When I began, I made it clear that I wanted to complete the field work, and had no interest in running the office or sales. The owner said that was fine and I shouldn’t have to take work home with me. Over the next 5 months he fired his office worker, and his estimator and dumped the company phone and e-mail on me. I shouldered it because I had to keep my family afloat and he’s paying me more than the local standard. I told him the other day that I was done with the phone and e-mail and that it’s time to get back to our original agreement, which he took with some passive aggressive remarks. I am seeing more and more generation bashing here. I am tired of it on all sides. We are all in this world together! We should stop blaming and start finding a way to work together because we are surrounded by many generations at work. My mom is a boomer, but she isn't a stereotypical one. My dad isn't even a boomer. He is older. I am GenX, so there you go-the tiny generation no one remembers exists. My point is most of us have to work, so let's work together to make it better. We are more powerful together than separate! Peace!

Every time people complain that they are struggling allthough they have degrees comes some troll and says “well what did you major in? haha thats worthless you deserve to die”. What the hell is this? The generations before us could lead a good life with only HS Diplomas or even without them – but people that earned a degree are supposed to die just because they didnt take the one most prefered by the capitalist system? This is sick.
