I'm an AP Processor Intermediate. My whole team thinks I should be senior level, based on my skill level. Including Leaving (Sr) coworker and Partnering on big project (Sr) coworker. The big project is long term, never going to end, and needs to be headed by a senior level processor. For reasons?? Partnering coworker thinks I'm a better fit and wants me to head it. Leaving understands the project and wants me to head it. Manager wants Partnering to head it in meetings, but me to do all the heavy work. Since me heading it would mean I'd be promoted to senior level. Partnering is trying really hard to get everyone the best solution, without actually heading the project. I'm trying to head the project but only if I get the promotion to senior level. Manager is out till Leaving's last day next week. So I have a couple days…
This is more of a rant than anything, but why is it that I can’t go even an hour at work without one of the many people I answer to coming back and telling me that something else has to take priority. I’m told to stop working on the project I am currently on and work on this “hot priority” project. Not every department’s project can be a priority at the same time. Before 9am this morning I am already being pulled in 3 different directions and already feel the need to just zone out and decompress. Why do companies continue to take on more contracts and projects then they know their workforce can handle?
UK won’t pay – Taking Us For Fools
Hi everyone! We're a national campaign set up to tackle the cost of living crisis. We are not a political party, nor do we support any one party. This is about doing something now to protect ordinary people. We're launching today with our petition – www.ukwontpay.com/petition – calling for a reversal of the energy price cap rise today which sees bills increase by up to 53%… that's £693 a year for the average British household. More rises are planned in October! Please sign up if that's something you support. We will also be campaigning against other price hikes impacting ordinary UK people whilst small numbers in our society continue to rake in huge profits! #ukwontpay #takingusforfools
Boss was a ‘company man’
Boss got layed off after 30yrs. Very decent man. His first job after graduadation. Hard working, proactive, smart. Knew the technology/business inside out. After amalgamation with a larger company, music stopped, no seat for him. Still hard to believe, knew our tech from the smallest screw to the largest instanstallation. Still trying to process the change (it's been 12mths+). Work for a European company (Finnish). Beware.
Employer won’t let me take vacation days
(I apologize for any mistakes. English is not my first language) I have been working for a really big audit firm. On the outside the firm is known as one of the best audit firms and usually because of its reputation people tend to belive working for such an employer is great, but it is quite the opposite. As most of the firms employees, i started working at it right after finishing college. Starting salary is the mimium wage, you can only get promoted after a year of working for the firm and the promotion is for only 100 euros more per month. As the work consists of audits of other companies, we were not allowed to take any vacation days during the main audit season. Now that the main season is ending i have handed in my 4 weeks resignation and i wanted to take all the vacations days…
