The rate of wage growth among the lowest-wage workers right now is really remarkable. No sign of a slowdown here whatsoever. pic.twitter.com/jRzo8pT5Em— Ben Casselman (@bencasselman) April 1, 2022
My work guves 30 mins. You CAN take 1 hour but that means i will have to leave 30 mins late. Any activity at work should count as work. Just set aside 30 mins of my 10 hour shift as lunch and its still 9.5 hours… its a joke… If you dont take lunch, you cant lave 30 mins early. “Employees time is my time” is what they are saying.
working at a family business
I work at a family business that sells used car parts. My gpa started around the 60's. They had over 30 employee's then. Now there is less than 10. He got very wealthy doing this. But his customers and other people caught on that he was overcharging and basically buying the market out with cars and paying to much for the inventory. So in a sense they started boycotting him. Then he seemed to get ahead of himself in the early 90's and later. Had to continue to put his savings in every year. He's 87, I'm 37. About 7 years ago my uncle j who worked the office selling parts, retired and I moved to the office to sell parts. At this point it was still a dying business. Don't get me wrong it was still a business that could sell just the pure inventory for millions…. Now there…
Not paid for 2 days of work
My employer shorted me out of 2 days pay. The company is called Hawthorne Management Company and were acquired by William Douglas Management. They did this to everyone at the company. They claim they could us an “advance” if needed, but basically we aren't being paid for 2 of the days worked. Is this legal? They're located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Is this something the NC National Labor Relations Board could deal with? This is ridiculous. It's not that hard to pay people for the hours they work.
