So I currently work retail but I'm now realizing how fucking hard it is for me and I been feeling so depressed about everything I feel like I can't do anything and I don't know what to do. Ik you guys are the best here, so what should I do?
Month: April 2022
Current state: Food production and manufacturing seeks to make a profit, not feed others. Which results in starvation and unnecessary food waste. What steps could the government / corporations take to change this?
I've been working at a country wide retailer doing in home electronic installations for the past couple of months while between jobs. The job itself is fine, but it is absolutely not a career path I had planned on furthering and told the hiring team exactly what they wanted to hear during the hiring process process so I could have a paycheck in the meantime while still looking for better opportunities. On Monday I got an offer letter from a job that I have accepted that will give me a $10 pay increase from the $19 an hour I've been stuck at for years which is absolutely life changing, as well as actual fantastic benefits. I am extremely excited to begin this new step of my career and hopefully stay there for many years as I truly do not like going from job to job even with it being a…

warning: kinda long this is why it is a good idea to leave an employer on good terms April 2017 to November 2018 i started a position as a legal secretary for a small employment law firm (We'll call them The Law Firm). they represent the employer, not the employee. there were about 10 lawyers, and 4 legal assistants. i was the youngest of the legal assistants. i worked hard, was much more tech savvy, and i was NOT in the mood for office gossip (as the much older, long-term legal assistants were). these ladies were awful to me behind my back and to my face. they also made it a point to gossip and make fun of our HR lady. eventually, i got sick of their sh*t, and spoke to the HR lady, explaining the extent of the gossip and catty behavior. HR lady called a meeting of all…
Almost ready to get out.
I work for a private locator business that contracts work from the big utilities so they don't have to pay union workers or for that matter pay a high wage for their own people to do what I do. It's an absolute shit show of punishment if you even step one foot out of line for driving, for trying to unionize, for trying to even safely drive and so much more. The job itself is something I'd honestly say I enjoy, it's not hard, very straightforward and outdoors. Sometimes homeowners are a little trouble but mostly they know why we are there. The company though, I went two years with no issues. Got awards, prizes and even made a few positive drives for the company in regards to some contractors who had issues with some previous employees. Now, after a bad day in the middle of a blizzard, a ticket…
Title says it all, want to know what people would want to do with their time if they had more freedom and less financial burdens
