I think of this often, especially now that I work 44 hours a week with half an hour unpaid break. I don't spend anywhere near as much time working on myself, my mental health, or enjoying the time I have on this earth because I just don't have the time or energy anymore. When I was younger and much happier, I asked someone in my family a question about the nature of the universe. I don't remember the question, but it was something physics related. They told me that I spent too much time thinking and need to use my time working instead. That has always stuck with me. Work culture has done a number on us.

I remember hearing about this back in the day. But I found out it meant that the company was saying “You gave us your time, now we are giving you ours” (🥰, ….NOT ,). Why can’t a business just last?
As a reminder anarchists are against hierarchy. not unjust hierarchy (there is literally no philosophy that supports unjust anything)–hierarchy. we are against rulers, not leaders. i.e. anyone who tells you what to do or else. If you are against capitalism and work then you are an anarchist. Welcome! All the structure of this subreddit (side bar, FAQ, Flairs, and 'friends/related subreddits) still looks like it's about anarchism but nearly all content here is about work reform rather than antiwork/anti capitalism. I'm not one of those anarchist that want their space to remain fringe for a sense of smug moral superiority and understand that to make changes we need to work with liberals and conservatives. But it seems like people don't even realize that this is an anarchist subreddit at all. I remembered when post like “I'm not actually against work, just unfair work” would have gotten deleted on…
