Job dictates when I take PTO
Hello I am coming here to discuss Navistar international trucks. I recently started working for them. During my offer phase I was told I would get 10 days PTO. I took that to mean 10 discretionary days because that's pretty standard. Once I finally got to the company they said we actually have a summer shutdown but you have to use your own vacation for that. This means I basically had half my small amount of vacation stolen from me. I do not work in production at a factory, I'm a salaried worker in a non production related role so this doesn't make sense for me or my group. I'm debating arguing with HR over this lie that I was told, be a shitty employee, or discuss this with the fellow people and try to negotiate as a whole. No one likes it but they all just accept it which…
