Too much to dream of?
I just want something soft
I know that camera recordings are allowed but my boss recently bought a bunch of new cameras so he could watch us live from an app. He bought all these despite the fact that this business is basically failing and he says he can’t afford to pay us more. Whenever he’s there he is super nit picky and annoying and now he’s texting us from home nitpicking the way we do things throughout the day. They also aren’t turned towards entrances so it isn’t for security. He only wants to watch his employees. They are only focused on behind the bar, in the kitchen, and where we chill when it’s a slow day (and by slow I mean zero customers). Our kitchen manager thinks it’s creepy and just wants to take them down. I’m constantly super close to just walking out. And this might be the last straw but I’m…
How do I deal with toxic coworkers?
I’m getting real tired of my coworkers’ attitudes. I manage investigations for missing/extra warehouse products. This is an office job, which is new for me. The work itself is great and I’m getting a lot done, but I’m having the shittiest time dealing with these office fuckers. Most of them are cool, but the worst ones happen to know all of the material I need to be trained for. This means I’m working with them every day. They drive me up the wall, they’re assholes about everything. If I’m learning something new and don’t click something fast enough, they rush me. If I make an error, they correct me by talking to me like I’m a fucking idiot. Just yesterday, two of them were holding boxes while trying to open a keycard locked door. They looked like they were struggling, so I held the door for them. I wasn’t expecting…
Just spent 30 mins in line cause every machine was in call an attendant mode and there was 1 person running around like crazy. Also fuck having to scan my own shit I don't work here.
Manager at my job is utterly useless
Let me point out now too that I am also a manager of the restaurant I work at, i started when I was 15 as a caterer and worked up to a manager now at 22. We run parties basically as like a Maitre D and have a staff to help with everything food, drinks, communication, etc. one of the other Maitre D’s is on vacation for the week so instead of the useless one pitching in to help she refuses to come in because it’s her day off which left me with running three parties all at the exact same time. Not to mention how backed up this lack of spacing made the kitchen. I also covered her shifts while she was away on vacation because it’s extra money and I want to help the best I can. She’s also the owner’s sister so she gets away with murder…
TLDR: My coffee shop job is exhausting and too demanding. My bosses can't seem to do the paperwork properly but still allow themselves to rudely criticize me. Any tips on how to quit when confrontation is like my worst nightmare ? I'm in college right now and I just started a job as a barista/cashier at a hipster coffee shop near my school. I have been working there for a month, but I already feel like this is a really shitty job. The workload is much more exhausting than I expected; not only do I make coffee, but I have to make fancy sandwiches, man the grocery section, clean the entire shop, take care of the trash and act as a table server on weekends for brunches. Also, we get very few customers so my shifts get boring (no phone allowed tho!!) and the tips are basically nonexistent. We are…
