Month: May 2022
By most people's standards, I'm living it up. I'm 30 years old, mother to 3 kids, have a nice house, 2 cars, own my own business, and have a patent. I am well educated but I feel completely alone. I tried going back to work for a company last year and it was a total wash. I ended up in an immature department who sent fart videos and memes all day at work. This was at a med device company by the way too…I ended up quitting and going back to work for myself. I'm trying to get into med school while supporting myself and my kids and just trying to find some meaning in this God forsaken life. I can't stand repetitive work. I used to work at the hospital and loved my 12 hour shifts, but the people I had to rely on to help with my kids…
Advice on how to handle 2 weeks notice
Hi all, first time posting (ever), but i had a questions that no matter how I google it, i can't find an real answer to. SO! Here's sorta the short version of this story. I've recently quit my job. They hired me for a senior position that ended up being more like an intern/assistant job. I brought this as an issue multiple times to both my manager (the person who i was being the intern/assistant to) and the director of the team. I tried being as honest as possible, without getting overly emotional or accusatory, we're all humans, not everything will go smoothly. This went on for like 4 months out of the 6months I've worked there. without going into too many details, let's just say there was quite a lot of gaslighting into trying to make me feel like I was in fact doing senior level work, as if…

What do I do with this settlement??
So I live in California where labor laws are semi decent. My last employer (pre Covid) was horrible in many ways. I ended up suing him in a very open/shut case. I got awarded money for pain and suffering and lost wages. I’m in my 30s and never thought I would have this kind of money available to me. It is enough for a large down payment on a house. But there are so many things that are happening right now, it’s not a good time to buy a house! Inflation is insane. Civil war is a real possibility… What even is the point of having this money if I can’t build a future with it. My retirement fund has lost money in the last year. Honestly… what should I do with this much cash?
the FED is the real enemy!!
I learned of this today and find it completely ridiculous. News flash, food and land are both provided by Earth free of charge in plentiful excess. There is enough land and food for everybody, enough people who love gardening, trucking, building, organizing, that the entire world could have their needs fulfilled while not requiring money for their services and being entitled to a share of all services/products. If you are interested in a field, work in it and have your needs/wants covered in exchange, instead of pay. You would simply have a status card that enables you to a fair share of whatever it is you please, because all things on Earth are in excess and would be even more so if those who wished to contribute were not held back by the prospect of student loans. The ONLY reason it will never be adopted is because so many are…
This is more of a vent post than anything, but due to the nature of my story I thought it would fit here. I'm also only posting here because I'm not really allowed to tell anyone else. For context, I've been moving around my entire life, never really settling down. Despite being just 17, I've lived in a couple of places India, multiple states in the U.S, and now Canada (after moving twice here as well.) My dad, as such, is a first generation immigrant. Like a lot of them, he's in IT since its a field with a lot of demand, and so he makes decent money. Keep in mind that he works remotely, as it's important to this story. A few days ago, my parents dropped the news that we're moving yet again. (Keep in mind, this is the fifth major move in my life.) I've lived in…
Don’t know if it’s related but
My uncles decided last month to go ahead and do the “journey” into the USA looking forward to the so called: “American Dream” (we're Venezuelan, living in Colombia). I wouldn't be mad if they didn't dragged my 9y/o cousin into that shit. Last thing i know is that they're in Mexico and their travel just extended 1 Month more so they can cross the border, and most importantly they ran out of money and very likely they're lacking food and other things, which i repeat isn't a big deal for me if not for my little cousin. Anyway, do the Harlem Shake
Fake Online job reference service
Fake Online job reference service The last two years have been disastrous for me with lots of different contract work and no one was calling me back. Last month I slashed those jobs off the resume and put in one of the employers who went out of business for that period of time. It's a manager role, so can't just have anyone receive the reference call, especially sine I have to share some personal info. Any one use one of those Fake Job Reference services on Google? Or suggestions?
