The Reason I mention this quote is because of increase renting worldwide. In some countries (Palestine, Equitorial Guinea, Laos, Etc) rent is not allowed, and homeownership is more common and widespreading. On top of this, if someone else owns where you live, they have a particular power over you. If a nation is truly to be free, Housing must be provided to the people with the residents being the sole owners. It is absolutely disturbing how in many country there is rent for housing. So why is it not done anywhere else? well, it is the drivers and beneficiaries of the oppressive trade. The Landlords have more power than anyone, because they own the homes. If anyone in any country is to do something, you first need to take power from landlords and give it to the people.

A great coworker I had got moved to another position which eventually was downsized. Instead of letting him go and collect unemployment, they are keeping him employed saying they are “looking for another position to move him into” but he’s not scheduled any hours (AKA not being paid). They’re basically trying to force him to quit so they don’t have to pay the unemployment tax. I think I found him a new position but jfc am I sick of this crap when companies like this tout “people first” values. I’m interested to know other peoples crap experiences in the “outsourcing”industry.

im in the middle of a 2 week holiday from work because i can not stand to work there any longer. i want to hand my notice in but i have no other job to go to. i have over 7000 in my savings and whatever i decide to do i would like to still have a decent amount of money. what are my options here? i just want to hear other people’s ideas or what they done when in the same situation so i can decide where to go. the only bill i have to pay is my car which is 130 a month and then petrol on top. im from the uk and unvaccinated which may affect travelling.

Every day I see posts on here containing the grievances of so many people in the U.S. Inflation is up. Wages are stagnant. Veterans are still never taken care of. We continue to see the rich gather more wealth to themselves and leave the rest of the population behind. Help me out here, what are some changes (stopping quantitative easing, outlawing stock buybacks, term limits for congress, overturn of citizens united, increase minimum wage, universal health care) that could/should be done to our system to fix our country. If we can get a well thought out and polished list, we can then start pushing for candidates who we believe will carry those out in government. I'm in NV, and am struggling to find child care that's not going to break the bank for my family. I'd 100% run for some type of office to institute meaningful change in my state…

I just need to rant about this. It's about both myself and my mother. My mother and I work/ed for our local library system (she's still there, I am not due to reasons I'll get into later). She's been there 17 years, and she worked her way up from shelver to circulation manager. She's the type of manager who never asks anyone to do anything she wouldn't do. She scrubs the bathroom when people fling shit all over it (happens more often than you'd think). She bans people who abuse her employees. I'm so tired of not being appreciated or respected at jobs where I try so hard. It feels like it happens every time?? I used to think it was me, but now I'm realizing it's my managers just…not having the empathy to realize people need to pay their bills. My current job is one I have tried my absolute best at, I've been doing so well there and I felt like it was finally being noticed, then suddenly I'm not asked to come in for almost 2 full weeks. For context, they just hired another person in my position for no reason and I was worried my hours would take a hit, now that's exactly what happened. A week ago I started working at a new company, with the employer telling me beforehand how much they are paying for this position. I didn't really care I just wanted a comfortable job for the time so I said yes. I was tasked with being outgoing and talking to the colleagues, and by doing that I of course also learned about their pay. A week later I found out that my colleague, who does exactly the same as me and just started 2 months earlier, makes 20% more than I do. They company also recently got bought up by a slightly bigger company and they promised me that it means higher wages than before. First off I’m not lazy because I get up everyday around 5:15 to go to the gym to set myself up for a successful day and in bed by 10pm. I also have an alright healthy diet. I’m 24 years old and can’t seem to find any motivation to keep a job. I was blessed with an alright paying job a few years ago which I was able to afford a new car (19 Honda Civic sport) but no longer have that job and I’m struggling to pay for it. I work in a factory as a maintenance mechanic/millwright/electrician/ whatever the fuck my boss wants me to be in any given moment. I was 30 mins late to work because public transit sucks. Usually i get verbal instructions in the morning for jobs of the day, but i missed the morning meeting so all i had to go off of was a single typed sentence, vaguely describing my tasks, which was sent through a work group chat.
