I work as a residential house cleaner and earlier this week I had a piece of an appliance fall and cut the outside of my thumb. It was very deep, not extremely painful but my partner said I turned a color I never have before and it didn't stop bleeding after 10 minutes of pressure. My partner called the office to notify them that I needed to go to urgent care and they asked for a picture (of a wound pooling with blood, on a very old Samsung tablet that takes horrible pictures). They told us it didn't look that serious and to put a bandaid on it. I instantly bled through 3 of them and had almost drenched a washcloth by then. My partner insisted they come get me and take me to urgent care. When I was dropped off my boss told me “they'll probably just put a…
We are doing this “Talk to the CEO” thing, and it was going so well, he was talking about how the company works and what we do exactly and the history of the company, which was great, until he started talking about people thinking they should get paid more, and said “I understand, I too think I should get paid more sometimes” DUDE YOU’RE THE CEO you go on vacation every other month, you own property in another country, you live in a big ass house in a very expensive neighborhood. Your experiences are not universal, it’s not the same thing as someone who can barely afford their bills, you grew up filthy rich and you’ll die filthy rich, most of us don’t have that, most of us don’t have half of that. It’s not the same thing. At all.
LOL at American companies. They are so insolent it's honestly funny. So I was to join an online interview at 4:45PM CEST but nobody was there. Waited 5 minutes, still nothing. Left immediately. I have written to the HR rep the following: Hello I joined the meeting via the link you have given above at 4:45PM CEST, nobody was there. The meeting hadn't even started yet. I kept on waiting till 4:50PM CEST. It's unacceptable to be late in a professional working environment. As we speak, I have more important matters to attend to. Do with this piece of information what you will. Background: I already have a pretty good job, the team likes me and I like them back, and the salary is good and so is the benefits. I merely keep on applying to call out companies on their BS when there is BS. Also I am a…
I normally work as a substitute teacher but with it being summer I needed a supplemental job. I got hired on at a local grocery store. Making an astonishing $11 and hour /s. They trained me for a total of 2 days to be a cashier, self checkout person and costumer service. Costumer service includes bill paying, money transfers(western union), money orders, tobacco and lottery sales, returns and any other costumer grievances. For $11 an hour. My small qualms are that when I was hired I was firm in that I won’t work Sunday and Monday, those are family days and errands day. I also asked for at least 28 hours a week but willing to do up to 40. I’ve been getting 24. Several times they’ve tried to schedule me on Monday and Sunday and then get pissed when I remind them. Now here’s the big one, and if…
So yesterday I had an interview with a company at 11am. This was my second interview, the first one went pretty well as far as interviews go. It was a zoom interview, so I enter the call about 5 minutes before it is set to begin. 15 minutes go by and the interviewer still hasn’t shown up, so I email the HR recruiter from the company and let her know that I’m in the call and the interviewer has not shown up yet. Of course no response. I wait another 20 minutes and then I leave the call, because at this point I’m just pissed off. I’ve had this interview planned for weeks and was excited about a new opportunity because my current job is absolute shit and I’ve been feeling so depressed there. About an hour after I leave the call, I get a phone call from the recruiter.…
