Just relaxation and popsicles please
I've posted in this sub about my awful experiences as a middle school teacher (a list I could add to endlessly), but I had no idea how bad it could really get… I was in a helicopter accident earlier this year. I don't want to include a ton of details, as it would make me extremely easy to identify, but the short version is this: a mechanical malfunction caused our pilot to clip a tree and crash, killing several of the passengers instantly. My father was one of them. By some miracle, I pulled myself out of the wreckage with no visible injuries and was released from the hospital that afternoon. Basically, I work at a restaurant as a hostess, I was told that after mother's day weekend I would be trained on to go, especially because they need people over 19 but basically everyone else just graduated high school last week. Fast forward to now and I've effectively been trained by having to cover when they just flat out don't schedule someone on to go, but I've never been part of the to go tip pool. I keep any tips given to me directly by customers but I don't get anything from online orders or even the tip jar. I can't even pick up shifts for to go despite already being trained (not on training shifts, which are paid differently). Is there anything I can do to get the money I've done the work for? My neighbor has someone continuing to do the “finishing” installations to her renovations, on a national holiday, Canada's birth. I hope he is charging her ALL of the OT.
