Month: July 2022
I've completed my Bachelor of Science (majoring in Animal health), and I still have no idea what I want to do with my life. I've tried a few different jobs and I've just hated everything, working full time really makes me so anxious, I've never worked so much for so long I don't know if I'm just lazy or if I'm just not used to it. I'm genuinely terrified of working full time, I'm getting “old” (nearly 30 without ever working full-time or have a career type job) and don't have my life together I'm just lost. I'm sorry if this isn't really for this sub I'll deleted it if it's not. I just don't even know where to start.
After being down to 3 members of staff and no one to cover my break, I was at a breaking point. I rang transport office and I told them that I would be closing the gatehouse, and putting the barriers down that no vehicle could leave nor enter. Of course that sent them into a spiral of pure panic, after getting the senior transport manager and the manager of warehouse operations, they had to pull someone out of a disciplinary meeting to cover someone else’s position so they could cover my position. One of the staff said that if I hadn’t “kicked and screamed” about it, I wouldn’t have got my break, and they were right. Feels good, chest hurts a bit from all the excitement but ah well, it was well worth it.

“Reasons” why you can’t get a raise.
Inflation is high = businesses can't afford to give you a raise Inflation is low = no need for a raise, everything is so cheap right now Economy is bad = businesses are teetering on collapse, couldn't possibly give a raise Economy is good = the job market is so glutted, ask for a raise and you'll get replaced
Finally got my raise after a year
42 cents. I'm a delivery driver so I feel like my job is kind of important overall success of the company. When Christmas came around last year we got a bonus which was a pair of headphones with a card that said “thank you for making us billions of dollars here's your shitty ass bonus”.. basically I don't feel like they're paying my worth and I just needed to fucking tell someone that I got 42 cents after doing delivery driving and warehouse work because I do come in at 6:00 and pull two routes then go on my own route. I'm currently in the hiring pool for public school warehouse assistant manager position. Wish me luck on that, it's an immediate increase and with my experience I get more. Thank you for reading.
So I got fired today for a mistake I did 2 months ago and at the time my manager didn’t tell me anything to clarify that I made a mistake So I assumed nothing wrong but today when I asked for the reason he brought up the mistake I did 2 months ago
