Because of a long list of incidents over the last few months I really want to quit my job. Especially because of something that happened this morning when I got to work. The problem is that I'm a type 1 diabetic and I live in the United States. My current employer provides very good health insurance that I, obviously, desperately need. Financially I could manage without a job for a little bit but not without health insurance to foot my medical costs. Do I realistically have any good options or am I just fucked until I can guarantee a different job?

2021 got fired for enforcing Mask Mandate. Still irks me. I protected my self and 6 other people but because the person cried to corporate, they decided I should be punished.

The place I work is super strict about time off and apparently has it in our rules that we must maintain 37.5 hrs or be written up. They even go so far as to say we may not request days off for doctors appointments and have to schedule it on “off hours” (I work 9-5 m-f). I asked for a day off anyway for my appt but have no pto to use so my boss is requesting I come in on Sunday to work even though I'll have no work to do and there is literally always somebody on call for weekends. Can I fight this?

Not a long post but I remember working at Starbucks and my manager had me working doubles (5:30am-11:30pm) a few days that week. I told him I needed to take a vacation a month and a half away and he said I was the only manager who could do the work. We had 4 different people other than myself who could work the shift. I asked for three days a couple months already and they were declined for the same reason. I took it to the chin that time but couldn’t do it again. I reported him for the practice because he made me work his best friends shift that week but couldn’t let me ever take off for mine. He also cut my hours from 40-43 hours a week to 7 hours after he heard I had another job lined up. “I thought you didn’t need the money since…

so my current job is structured in such a way that I work alone, outside the main headquarters. whenever I call out, my company will send someone whose job it is to rove around the country and cover for other people like me when they have to take time off. the last time I called out it was due to an emergency, and unfortunately while I was recovering in bed, I still kept getting messages from my company and my workplace about when I was coming back, questions about how to do some tasks, etc. it drove me batshit crazy. so I decided to prepare notes for my time off this time, so no one would disturb me while I was recovering from my surgery. I did my best to organize things so that my covering person wouldn't have too much on her plate. she was supposed to arrive today…

I currently work in a warehouse, a job I've gotten through the government. Due to my history I can barely work 9 hours a week, I was placed in a mental institution age 14-18. I'm now 20 and have about 840 USD to live on. I don't buy clothes, games, I dont go out to restaurants, I can't visit my family, I can't buy gifts for people, I don't eat varied food, I can only afford one of the 3 kinds of medicine I'm prescribed. I've worked unpaid for god knows how many places since I was 15. Always gotten the promise of “maybe we'll hire you one day” but they never did. Hopefully this one will lead to paid work, I hate myself for having to borrow money from friends, I've considered prostitution but that's no longer an option as I have a girlfriend. Now I'm getting schizophrenic symptoms…

Quiet quitting means mentally quitting but physically present and doing the bare minimum to avoid getting sacked. When you do something meaningful with good intent people often resist change and you are being shot down. So why do anything. Trying to do nothing while acting busy keeps you out of trouble and helps you operate in stealth mode. So what’s your way to appear busy and have a long career?
