I swear every time I come into work there’s something else broken. I sometimes wonder how this hospital is still standing. The roof leaks, the automatic doors in our department are always broken, the machine that dispenses our scrubs hasn’t worked right since they installed it. With how poorly we’re paid around here and how much they take in screwing over the patients, you’d think there’d be plenty of money to fix the equipment around here. I guess it’s just lining some asshole exec’s pockets.

Background: I'm a full time stay at home parent. I do all the food prep, planning, cooking, cleaning, laundry, childcare for my baby. And I'm happy to do it. My mom works for a big hospital group and has to use five pto days before she's allowed to use sick days. She got covid last month and had to burn through most of her remaining vacation and now we can't do a family trip for her 60th birthday in September. How is this even legal?
