Didn’t get paid again
For the third time I didn't get the correct amount on my check this week. The bosses for the three levels above me recently.left and were replaced with new people. They said I hadn't been entering my times correctly and that's why I haven't gotten paid correctly three times now. They never told me to change how I do anything so I'm just screwed until someone at the main office can do something about it towards the end of next week so I told them I'm not working again until I get paid as I'm not a volunteer. I actually really do like what I do but I'm not doing for free. Another branch in our state is about 1.5 times the size of ours and they have 3 people doing my job that I handle by myself part time. I also keep us in compliance with the government and…
got fired for asking for more hours
Title. I worked at a garbage dumpster fire business that sells pizza and shit and has a name of an old old school toy that kids spend hours setting up. Fuck it. Its dominos. I used to work at dominos. When i got hired on I was promised atleast 20 hours. The gm that promised me got replaced because shit company thought she was a bad manager. Then they hired some dick who has no experience being a gm much less a manager as this 'gm' would spend most of their time in back. Not helping during a rush and the like. Well. I got down to 8. To 4. Asked for more hours. Got bumped back up to 8. Then dropped to 4. So I started showing up for whatever shift I could take. Cue one week where I ask a friend to send me the schedule. My friend…
I apologise if this is a long story but it’s been bothering me since I’ve started my vacation break, so here it goes: So I’ve been working as a housekeeper for nearly 3 months. I worked at two hotels (one for a month but left due to the very long commute), and the second one. I preferred the second one over the first, as my coworkers are more friendly and my boss, manager and majority of my supervisors are amazing, except for one. She’ll be named A for privacy reasons. Don’t get me wrong, I love the job itself, but when you have someone constantly coming in the rooms to tell you off for a small mistake, it just gets frustrating. For example, on my last day of work before my vacation leave started, I mentioned to A prior to the mistake that the vacuum wasn’t working properly and there…

I love my job.. But I hate my job..
I love where I work because it's so lax and most people are so friendly.. however.. Recently my job has changed my duties. I work in a warehouse. I used to pick and process/ship small parcel orders. Now I got a whole new list of duties. I am to make sure the LTL orders are labeled properly and that they're completed for when they ship out. That means I need to keep on top of the labelers and keep track of the pick up list. However.. It's not a promotion. And there's no raise involved. The previous person in my position was dubbed a “team lead” and was given an increased pay (same as the other leads). However, I'm not. And, as for pay, “they're working on it”. Which is exactly what they say to the temps who've been there for a year waiting to be brought into the company.…
chewed out for using bathroom
Work boh at a pretty nice barbecue place. Was working with a pretty upset stomach today and told everyone I had to use bathroom badly. We had a bout two tickets up, came back about 6 minutes later to 7 tickets and 5 people in line. I instantly jumped back on and got chewed out by the other super and a coworker saying I planned it out. Like I'm suppose to just know there is gonna be a rush? Like can yall not handle 7 tickets with three of you? Almost walked out cause I felt like I was being shamed for not wanting to go in my pants. Thinking about putting two weeks in. Manager is really cool but feel like I'm getting talked behind my back now. Any advice?
So, I have been on this Reddit for a while and I have an honest question. Often times people on here read stories from other people and their recommendation is always something like, and I quote “Quit! They don’t deserve you!” or “definitely quit, corporations have been using us for long enough.” I don’t know anyone that can afford to quit. They are working their jobs to literally survive. I really don’t think that losing you housing and starving are showing the corporations anything. They won’t hurt at all. Are the people making these comments just living off their parents or trust fund babies? That advice is totally unrealistic for most of us.
Fuck off, dude. You have my CV, you have my Linkedin, you are going to take my interview then why the hell do I need to further include a “cover letter” just to tell you why am I a worthy fit for your esteemed corporation? Just to rub your ego? Nah, I'm not here for your entertainment. Either you put enough efforts in recruitment or you shut your corp down. These fuckers think we owe them something just for them existing.
and when I confronted them on it, they condescendingly said,”Well is it going to be the end of the world for you to work those shifts?” I wanted to say ALOT but told them my partner would be stuck without a ride to work and makes more $$ than me & that my availability was approved directly by said manager. Manager told me they don't have very many options and how they have to work around new trainees schedules trying to guilt me into it.. But then found someone to switch with me within minutes. Hey managers – don't expect employees making $12/hr to rearrange their own and their partner's lives to cover for your fuck up!! & gd when you fuck up, apologize instead of basically telling your employee how little you value their time or them as an individual.
