Month: July 2022
So I’ve been working the same job for years but recently moved and had to find a new one and would appreciate some advice. So I started this job about a month ago. The first day a coworker came up to me telling me that it was good timing because two people just quit. To me this was the first red flag. But I had to not think anything of it because I really needed money. Most of my life I’ve only had jobs where there were set schedule, for ex my last job it was always mondays and tuesdays off. The job I’m currently working is completely random. Random days, random hours, random positions. I already didn’t particularly like this, but my coworkers all said “that yeah it sucks but our boss always give you time off you request for.” So I figured whatever I need a job and…
Instead of crappy radio music or whatever is playing in the background at work? I do, i feel like i need to be cleansed after listening to the same cruddy radio songs over and over. Tbh, it's how i found my favorite band, “Sabaton”
Was this a scam, or am I an idiot?
So I was laid off of my landscaping job two weeks ago. Been job hopping for a little while for the first time since I started working, and currently have had 3 jobs this year alone. Old job still owes me $200+ for the last four days of work I did, though I'll likely never see it. Moving on, I began job hunting. While driving home one day, I received a call from an old coworker from my first job this year. He said his cousin needed workers, and asked if he could give my number to his cousin. Paid drive time at $15/hr, other work rate is $25/hr paid by the job on arrival(it is a moving company). Since my bills total about $2000 a month, I figured this would be a fantastic opportunity, right? Red flags galore. First, the lady didn't give me her name or company name…
We are indoctrinated so early!
Hello, my name is Joe. And I work in a button factory. One day my boss says to me “are you busy, Joe?” I say “No.” he says “push this button with your left hand.” And on and then on until Joe is totally overworked and boss says “are you busy Joe?” I said “YES!! Leave me a lone!!”
With the right support when needed I’m sure many of us would commit the same. Let’s change the narrative to quality leadership development and the expectations around it.
I was fired for talking about my salary
I work in fast food and I was talking about my salary with my co workers about a week ago. I haven’t been getting paid as much as I was promised, and I talked to management about it and they said it was an error and would be compensated for in the next paycheck but it wasn’t. I asked my co workers if they experienced the same thing and most of them did, the next day I walked in and my boss said I was fired, since we’re not allowed to talk about our salaries.
