So I work through an agency doing warehouse work.. I work 12 shifts 6days with one day off then 5 days with 2 days off ( yes even that is crazy but for the time being I'm ok with it ) but now I've been asked that my 2 days off to be taken separately so that the staff numbers stay high ( to many people off on the same day and the greedy agency employer is thinking about the money per head) .. I'm trying to fight back and say I need my 2days off in a row and they have a real problem with that . Other than leaving to I have a legal right to 2 days off ? I'm in the UK by the way

Long story short: I took a job as a graphic designer at a company with a small team. They told me via email I'll be undergoing a 3month trial at full time. The head designer/HR/admin/bosses personal assistant quit when I was 2months in after 10 years with the boss, and that Monday I felt sick so I texted 2 people (boss included) that I wasn't well. He said it was for “unsatisfactory” work, even though I was his only full time designer, barely got trained and was still training and trying to understand the very complex work flow (bare in mind, i wasnt just the graphic designer. I arranged…

Over in r/basicincome, we welcome your concerns and questions about work-life balance, dealing with difficult bosses, whatever. We also discuss the only really exciting policy idea that challenges the dominance of work in our lives and as a source of human value. Year one of Covid we got our raises rolled back. I later found out VPs are under contract and they couldn’t roll back their raises. So we had to take it for the team. I am an account manager in B2B sales. Our entire industry shut down so we essentially became a collection agency. Our analytics department also had 100% turn over during this time due to piss poor management. I became the de facto head analyst and team leader for the sales team for during Covid. I became project manager for everything. I developed entirely new sets of metrics for measuring the health of the market. Tracked all local laws and market closures/restrictions. Developed gross sales scenarios based on market closures or customer bankruptcies. I just created so many new data metrics and visualizations that brought us out of the dark ages. On the sales front I developed new…
