Bus line canceled in my area because “nobody wants to work anymore”

So let me give you some context. In my area there is a bus line during summer and autumn that you can ride for free. It's mainly for old people who want to travel or for those who can't afford normal public transport. It's very popular and they also transport bikes and wheelchairs if needed and for some people this is the only way to leave their home for a day. My mother is slowly getting older and has issues walking long distances so she kept complaining to me lately how she can't ride the bus anymore because apparently it's canceled. I thought why would anyone cancel a free bus line so I checked their website. Every 2 days they update the news and apologize again that the bus line can't run because they need bus drivers. On the weekend the busses magically run again so my theory is they…

Is this legal/allowed?

I live in NY and have worked at my job for three years and all of a sudden my company wants us to sign pretty abrupt and vague non disclosure agreements. Can they force me to sign? They said that if you don’t it’s means for termination but I thought this was something done during the hiring process. Not at random. I also suspect foul play somewhere here because my work is incredibly corrupt and I think they feel it catching up to them if anyone talks about it

The only way we can get money is to take it off other people.

Think about it the only way you can get money is to take it off someone else, but at some point money is printed. When the money is printed it should be shared amongst the people as the inflation it creates actually devalues the money people have. Why is it fair that it is simply given to banks/government they are paid by our taxes so the money should first be distributed amongst the population but possibly inline with matching increases to taxes. This flaw in the system currently oppresses people as they are left struggling to fight to regain what should be their fair share of a countries wealth.

I don’t know what to do about my job

A small backstory: I came home from a deployment and got this job, like clockwork… the job blows. I decided to go to barber school which has been a dream of mine. My job is a steady 5 days a week, 7:00AM-3:30PM. I recently found out that next month when my barber school starts i would be doing night classes which are on tuesday, wednesday, thursday, 4:30-10:30PM. It takes about an hour each way to get to school. I talked with my boss and he can’t let me out early practically every day in the work week. I feel that if i continue to work this bullshit job, i’ll end up murdering myself with how exhausted and completely overtaken i am. I would have to leave from work dirty as shit with a change of clothes and no shower and go straight to school and do that 3 days a…

USA is a racist, sexist, repressive hellhole

I'm a remote worker, but my company has been putting pressure on us to get back to the office even though productivity was through the roof over the past 2.5 years and the company made record profit. As a result, I started to look elsewhere that are more remote friendly. Recently, I have come across many job postings that specifically exclude Colorado. They always say something along the line of “this job must be performed entirely outside of Colorado”. And we are talking about multinational corporations that have employers in almost every other state. So it got me interested. Out of all places, why exclude Colorado? It turns out that Colorado had passed a law requiring employers to state salary ranges for all job postings. The rationale is that many POC, women, and other minorities can be underpaid relative to their white/male counterparts so that having a salary range in…

Quiet-quitting..

Is it really a thing? I am an electrician and I don’t really see this type of behavior In tradesman or from other types of trades. The only thing close to this is guys slacking towards the end of the job to get layoff until the next big job.. I feel like In these types of fields there’s a lot of work everywhere there’s no reason to slack you just “drag up” and go where the grass is greener. But I can see it happening in office setting or retail, etc. Humans like progression, so I think people who have jobs that create no progression from their productivity is the cause of this. A level up system could help in keeping people focused. Anyways I was just thinking about this since I say a YouTube video about it lol..

Falled asleep, today was a oficce day. I will work from home. Already told to my boss and she replied ok but try to don’t make it again. What’s next?

It's the first time it happen. I'm new in the company anyways, three slave months or something like that. On this scenario I had two alternatives, being late and just arriving like 45 minutes later, or just connect my computer at home and just work as usual on time. The good side of homeoficce is this too. WE WILL SEE ANYWAYS HOW ARE THEY GOING TO CHARGE ME ….

My workmates are scabs…

So…I’ve been taking part, through striking, in the current rail dispute in the U.K. I would say around 25-30% of the people that currently work at my location are also striking with me. This leaves the vast majority of people as strike breakers and scabs. Some of these strike breakers I would also class as good work mates. These people see nothing ultimately wrong with strike breaking, some even work overtime to cover the shifts of those going out on strike. Am I taking a narrow minded view or am I right in my opinion that these work relationships are broken forever!? I struggle to find any words to say when I come across them anymore, I have no interest in any conversation. I genuinely view them as traitors. The problem is, I am stuck with these people for now. I still have to stay professional. How do I over…
