Fuck sake. Spent 4 weeks eating through my savings and then just got made it. My work refused to let me work from home (makes sense to why now, they were trying to phase out my bloody job). Now I'm off work for another few days desperately trying to find a new job that'll understand I'll be straight in on light duties (I'm an Electromechanical engineer). I'm a single parent of two kids. How the fuck am I supposed to keep fucking going?
Changed my mind!
I was originally against this at the onset, especially during Covid, and felt there was a lot of unnecessary moaning from people/workers. My company has been fair, compensates well, has stuck true to work from home/hybrid model and has continued with normal pay rises and bonuses etc. They haven’t had hiring freezes or anything like that. HOWEVER, workloads have gone up and we do hire but just can’t keep people from leaving. It’s getting ridiculous and the more I observe, the more I do think to myself, what’s the point. There’s some very simple solutions upper management could take such as increasing pay even more so people stay and even retention bonuses but it’s not being done despite the very clear struggles with staffing. Now I wouldn’t mind if I’m talking about a mom and pop shop here but I work for a multi-billion dollar global financial organization…… Suffice to…
Just put in my two weeks at my job
I just put my two weeks in at my job. Retail store political bs and just didn’t like it. I have 3 different jobs in the past 4 years. I’m not sure how to find something I like to do don’t just want to bounce around. I do have a college degree just looking for advice. Sorry if this is the wrong sub for this.
Might be a long one TL;DR at bottom I work at a diner as a server. I've been working in restaurants for around 7 years both Foh and Boh. The GM at this diner is by far the most inexperienced and incompetent manager I have EVER worked for. As the story goes, his Mom bought him a restuarant to co-own with her… 2 years in she gave him the GM position because, I can only assume, the other GMs could no longer put up with her. She's a whole other can of crazy though. The GM, we will call him Chrysler, is such a spoiled rich boy it's insane. I.E. I had a table send back the soup because it tasted off. I asked the GM ig he could other make a new soup or cook the soup up to temp because I could tell by looking at it wasn't…

What a bunch of scumbags
I worked at a franchised Burger King in Texas. When I started the job 9 months ago, I agreed to work 5 days a week. That was until a few months ago when 3 employees quit on the same month, leaving only 6 of us running the whole store. When that happened, they put in me on 6 day weeks without asking me first! I decided to just deal with the bullshit for a couple of weeks till they hired someone else, but I ended up working 6 day weeks for 4 straight weeks! I told them I can't do 6 day weeks anymore and I requested to change my availability to have Saturdays off. They granted my request initially, but that only lasted like one week. When I got COVID 2 months back, my GM didn't even bother to tell any of my co-workers that I was sick with…
