Has this happened to anyone else?
This happened back in home town and I happened to be apart of the scam(?)!! Gave them a copy of my social, ID, phone number, bank information. And then I was never contacted again
I own a lil construction company and I enjoy everything about my job except the clients. Not all of them of course but a few get past the guard and treat me like they own me because they’re purchasing a product from me that I manufacture. It’s outdated boomer tech but has anyone experienced clients being aggressive, abusive, manipulative, disrespectful, generally just shitty people in the hope that it’ll help their cause? It’s in my contracts that I can terminate contracts if clients can’t behave themselves but some people still try negotiating with goofy haymakers. How do you manage delusional, shitty clients?
Is my boss micromanaging me and should I quit or am I overthinking things? Before I get started I should point out that my boss is a family friend which hired me in a small place with about 5 other people. I was looking for a job in a certain field at the time after dropping out of college. After a couple weeks my parents just throw a job on me with a family friend saying I'll be doing some electronic wiring and shiz (I previously was in a HS robotics team, oh yeah I was 18 when this took place ~8 months ago). I used to carpool with him going in whenever he went in, sometimes at 6 and sometimes at 8. This went on for a few months until I got a car less than 2 months ago. He would always tell me to do things a “different”…
Make employer’s bid on you
I posted this about a year ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/antiwork/comments/rabdbm/how_to_bend_the_capitalist_system_to_serve_you_in/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button TL;DR I pass out my resume. Instead of taking a single job, interviewing, and deciding. I take a weeks worth of interviews, and tell each: 'I interviewed with competitor A this morning, and I will be with competitor C tomorrow, what can you offer me?' Turning the market in my favor. Works great. I am actually in the middle of a job change and doing this now. I got on linked in around 8 weeks ago, got connections and posted some stuff to look like I know what I am doing. I had recruiters bothering me immediately. So I told them I was gonna move but in a few months. 2 weeks ago I said to the recruiters ' now is time' and they all ask 'how much you wanna make?' I says I will talk for [5k more than I make…
Law degree
I plan on becoming a lawyer in the USA. However, because of my family’s strong ties to Norway, I have considered the possibility of moving and starting a career there. I recently googled what was necessary to become a lawyer in Norway and was in disbelief of the tuition cost “International and Norwegian students pay no tuition fees. The Norwegian government considers higher education to be a vital to the continuing success of Norway and publicly fund 98 percent of all higher learning institutions. Only privately run colleges charge tuition fees in Norway. However, a charge of 400 to 600 NOK per semester is required before students can take final exams. This fee also grants them membership in student unions that provide benefits such as health services, use of sports facilities, counseling and housing assistance.” Meanwhile law degrees in America cost a mf fortune. Us Americans are fucked if we…
