My work has gone through some awful new policies lately . But this latest change is ridiculous. As someone with IBS I frequent the restroom and often take 10+ minutes. And it’s just embarrassing to know that they have to do a smell test now. I honestly have to change my diet now to hope that I won’t smell as bad as I normally do with my bathroom breaks. I will probably also have to stop going to Starbucks before work because it’s known to make me need to use the restroom within my first hour at work. So I got laid off. The company decided that I should ship back my tech (laptop and monitors and such) even though I live in the same city. I'm worried they'll try to screw me. So should I insure the package in case it gets damaged? How do I protect myself here?
In 2019 when I started at my job (Surveillance) I was given a form that served as a job offer and job description. I didn't really look at it carefully enough at the time and it turned out I had signed a Supervisor form. Essentially, I am being expected to do a job that I “signed” for but am not getting paid for, nor do I have the title. Management and HR apparently knew this screw up had happened cause they all signed off on the form too. The only reason I even found out about this was because I requested a copy of the form from HR for a different reason. My question is, do I have any grounds here to do or say anything about this? Leadership out of their minds
Long story short leadership at my job is writing everyone up with more than 3 latenesses per quarter. The thing is that we just got new leadership in quarter 3. Our old leadership allowed us a 5 min grace period to clock in. They aren’t honoring that grace period and writing up the whole department based on latenesses from over half a year ago. I told my union delegate that I want to grieve my write up. They told the delegate since I was verbally warned about latenesses from 3 years ago that I have a pattern problem of being late. I’ve never been written up for lateness in my life. How can I legally tie them up in paper work to make their lives a real challenge? They also have not published a schedule for the month of December.
