Hello all, long time lurker first time posting. I am not a native english speaker so i’m sorry for the poor grammar. This is not a troll post. Im just looking for an answer. Please remove if its against any rules. Thanks I have been in this sub for a while. It seems like everyone agreed that most of their economic problems are direct or indirects results of boomers hoarding wealth. If that is true how do immigrant who recently moved into this country were able to make it? I have seen countless of Asian who arrived in this country in recent year. Most of them are older with little to no english. They end up in factory/machine shops. They dont generally make lot of money but most of them eventually are able to buy car/house all while supporting their kids. What do you think the difference between these people…

School are just too much for me to handle. The amount of work for 9 hrs of school day with 8 subjects per day are just too much for me, plus with the rigid and the strictness of the lifeless system it self just makes it really hard for me to continue…it’s really discouraging. Tho I have to be in school because OF A “SCHOLARSHIP”. Scholarship is my only main reason why I’m in school, without scholarship school to me is a waste. Also I hate uniform…it’s dehumanizing. What should I do ? If I drop out then my life will be a living hell and if I stay my life will also be a living hell…it’s torn
I signed on with a new job and have gotten texts almost every day on my days off about hours that need to be filled, what the status is on my prerequisites to start at my permanent job site, and even being told I need to finish training I already finished. I have different managers contacting me to ask the same question and apparently not communicating with each other, and it’s all on my off days. I really dislike having to have any obligation to do with work when I’m not scheduled to work. I understand if it’s a question here and there but it’s literally every day lol multiple times a day. I just got a text at 6:30pm from my operations manager asking about whether I’ve been given an appointment for a TB test yet, when I had a full conversation about it over the last week with…
Just wondering what would happen if people do it by the masses and how the world would respond.
No PTO or Insurance
Was swapping stories with a friend in the UK and casually mentioned I have to watch how many hours I miss because I dont have sick leave or PTO. He was aghast and asked me to repeat myself that. Then began the usual 20 questions: what do you do if you're in the hospital? Can you even afford the hospital? Is this why you're so burnt out? I dont know how to answer this and I know there is no helping my situation at the moment. I just hate living check to check and getting embarrassed that I live in this capitalist hellscape.
I started a new job earlier this year and found it was a good first early on. Remote only, technical account support, but then the routine settled in and the additional work came on. It became what is called “enterprise” level work. I have to attend meetings after my shift because of the timezone difference with clients and other teams, which disrupt my daily life outside work. Then I was told to monitor the billing cycle and understand the client's environment, both are things my autistic brain has had a struggle with because it feels so high level. I've been watching hours of training videos and none of it is sticking because it's either too high level or I just don't understand it. Next, I have to take the AWS certification by the end of the year, that is the requirement. I've failed all the practice tests. I'm a horrible…
A toxic work environment is where your performance is evaluated by your mistakes or lack of. A toxic work environment is where everyone is on the edge in fear of a pay cut or getting laid-off. A toxic work environment is where your manager is breathing down on your neck to do work. A toxic work environment is where management rewards those who rat on other coworkers for the slightest mistake. Keep to yourself. Anything you say is going to be used against you at one point or another in some way. Assume all of your coworkers are not to be trusted. Make coworker friends by helping them do their tasks when you are free. Happy coworkers are much inclined to cover up for you when the time calls for it. If you see that you are being exploited by a coworker, pretend to be oblivious about it and make…
I’ve worked i various management positions throughout my career and I just gotta ask, anyone else feel like their mental health is completely shot from managing people, dealing with unrealistic corporate goals and company downsizing, cost cutting and all that? Now I know the answer is yes but I just need to vent for a minute. It’s so god damn hard to hang through and the last couple years have been barbaric. Curious what others in management positions have done to weather the storm. I’m ready to give up. Tia
I don’t love my job
