Apparently payroll couldn't be bothered to put through direct deposits today. So no work will get done today. Real simple concept. No pay, no work. Fucking company has 10,000+ employees. SMH.

As we look at the rising cost of housing, inflation, and a stagnation/decrease in wages, I want to remind everyone that it is not your fault that you were born into this generation. Do not be hard on yourself for being born at a time when two incomes often don’t bring home enough to support a household, let alone one with kids. Do not be hard on yourself for not being able to afford luxurious vacations. Do not be hard on yourself for not being able to afford healthcare. Do not be hard on yourself for not being able to afford a mortgage. A generation ago, a single income could afford a middle-class lifestyle, complete with personal vehicle, owned home, and pension plan. Be upset at our capitalist system and the financial inequities of prior generations that have brought us here, but do not be hard on yourself.

I work at a medium sized family owned manufacturing company. We get regular quarterly “bonuses” but our base pay isn't great, so they're basically supplements to our shitty wages. Our Christmas bonus, given during our annual Christmas luncheon, was a $40 grocery store gift card. And at a company meeting earlier that week, a $2M quarterly profit was boasted. Would rather have the regular “bonuses” scrapped for an actual wage increase, and maybe a decent Christmas bonus instead. But they don't wanna give us a wage increase, because the quarterly bonuses are always conditional. Stingy bastards. I would give them all coal.
