So I interviewed for an internship position today where they didn’t mention if it was paid or not (it’s normal for internships to be paid where I’m from). Turns out that it’s an unpaid position which yeah, not my cup of tea but I can accept it since it would also double as a thesis project. But they then mentioned that if I am excited about the position, I could continue being an intern even after the internship period ends (so still unpaid). Am I wrong to believe that’s exploitation? I don’t plan on accepting it after that comment.

Our VP doesn't know shit. Makes at least 800k a year. Was a mainframe development manager in charge of a 30 person team. Fooled someone into getting a role as a head of a 400 person org. We do BI and analytics. The guy hasn't had a single independent thought in 7 years. Doesn't know shit about Tableau or modern data infrastructure just sits in pointless meetings all day. Hes gotten fat and rich off the org. Im an Analyst making six figures. Some days I fuck around and take two hour lunch breaks. Come in at 11am leave at 6. It's a pretty chill life. But still I'm unhappy. I feel like if this turd has made millions doing nothing. Why can't I make my 100k nut and fuck off too?
