This is what your American government really thinks about the lower and middle classes. Apparently we are Freddy for wanting living wages. They go on to say the service sector needs to stop hiring, but more importantly, stop “raising wages.”
Month: December 2022
The corollary to this right-wing talking point is that workers today complaining about their jobs are just spoiled and ungrateful and their complaints should be dismissed. What are some good responses to the criticism that work today is a cake walk compared to previous times and that workers today have nothing to complain about?
The pay is minimum wage too…
Position vacant for months. Don’t accept a job that doesn’t give you flexibility.

Might be getting a new job
So I’ve been on the hunt for awhile, but really kind of holding out for something in the field that I’m going to school for. I do some volunteer work with a place and they are thinking of creating a new position and basically said it’s mine if I want it. It would be in the field I want to go into, would mostly be remote, would be a huge pay increase, and a better balance of school, work, and life. I’ve been so insanely stressed at my current job. My boss is a dick who doesn’t know what she’s doing and everything is just so negative there. I don’t feel supported and I feel like I’m just a body taking up space. I find out about what is happening with this position tomorrow and I’m so anxious that I don’t know if I can sleep!
Boss is sending kind of mixed signals
So I posted about an issue previously regarding being placed in a lower paying position than I applied for, it turns out it was a mistake and they corrected it when I brought it up. Okay. It's been some time since I began working and the boss is giving kind of both good and bad signals. The green flags they're giving off are always being thankful to the employees as they leave, and always remaining calm and collected. However the employer is also giving red flags off. Namely, “put your coat and stuff away before you clock in” and having unrealistic time expectations for things. For example, if a burger takes 1 minute to cook and assemble for a person going at full speed, they expect 30 burgers in 30 minutes, without factoring in things like a person getting burnt out at that speed or things like needing to walk…
Just a bit miffed
So I’m at work at a tire warehouse/ distribution center. One of my coworkers brings me a metal pallet with the last few tires I need for this load with her fork lift. I grab a few tires. She sees me grabbing these tires after she told me to grab em Proceeds to move the forklift with this pallet full of tires towards me and knocks me over, not paying attention. Accidents happen, but I’m sure y’all understand that I was not too happy. All I did was toss the tires off of me, stand up, threw my hat on the floor, that’s it. Didn’t say a word to her, didn’t even look at her. SHE jumps out of her fork lift and starts yelling at me for daring to be mad about what had happened. “I know you ain’t giving me no attitude. Who the fuck you think you…
