A family member defended their company doing wage theft

So I'm in the USA and a family member who works higher up in the federal gov I found out today they are an hr employee. They work WAY over their 40 hours a week. In some cases sometime in the in the AM hours and expected to start work again 6 or 7AM. This is nothing new and has been going on for years. They are closer to retirement (I think 10 years or less). So maybe this is why they don't want to rock the boat. Anyways, when I found out about this I mention how the gov was doing wage theft. They got seriously pissed at me and said I was sheltered. That if you fight it you better have all the money you want to live off of for the rest of their life. On one hand I think they should go after the gov.…

Does anyone here work part time because they don’t want to work full time?

Anybody? 40+ hours a week is just too much. How is doing something 8 hours a day 5 days a week normal? Sometimes it’s not even 40 but 50, 60 or even 80. Why can’t the work week be 25 hours a week with no loss in pay? I just find that 40+ hours a week is way too much. I find that part time working is way better even more so if it’s something you love doing. It’s a great balance of working and having a life. An ideal schedule would be Monday to Wednesday and get 4 days off a week. Perfect work life balance in my opinion. So does anybody here work part time because working full time sucks? How do you manage with bills and other things? What do you do in your free time?

No one wants to work at new IKEA store in Romania due to ridiculously low wages. SHAME ON YOU IKEA.

Eagerly awaited by many potential customers, the opening of Ikea in Timisoara is delayed, although construction is complete. There was talk that it would open for the Christmas holidays, then the end of February was brought forward, and now the idea that the opening will most likely take place in the summer is increasingly being put forward. The main reason is the shortage of manpower, Ikea being unable to find, in particular, unskilled employees to work in the warehouse, reports ZiarulTimisora.ro. Salary could be one reason for the lack of interest of potential employees. Although IKEA is not officially disclosing the amounts offered, those who went for interviews have made public the offers they received. In general, according to them, a net salary of 2,000 lei is offered, plus meal vouchers worth 20 lei a day and money for transport, i.e. 150 lei a month. A simple calculation, on an…
