Corporate leaders that are like: “We need to get everyone back in the office, building relationships is better when people are in the same room!” Are the same ones who say “There is no travel budget for teams that are geographically spread out”

Nice One Walmart!

Just thought it was interesting that Walmart pressures its employees into returning cheap cardboard boxes and wildly lies about their cost

Work from home sitcom characters

Sooo. Watched Twister tonight and thought about how Paul Reiser, Helen Hunt's husband in Mad About You, had a studio/office in their apartment. Mr. Brady of Brady Bunch fame also had a home office as an architect. And the crabby guy downstairs from Mork and Mindy was a stay-at-home greeting card writer. Who else can you think of? If they were present in the family, seems like they had to write in a WFH job. Otherwise the plots had to happen at their work or after 5pm… also yes I'm old. Hope y'all can find more examples from both TV centuries…

Training the new guy today…

… and he mentioned all the places he applied to (he's a red seal trained cook) have said there are hundreds of applicants. I accept the resumes in my place and there were five (5) applicants. All had formal education and were looking fir $20 per hour. My place offered $16. People want to work. They are not swamped with applications. They are gaslighting you to exploit you. Stick to your guns. Fuck these guys.
