Month: April 2023
I was told that I’d get a raise & a bonus, and that the “fully paid medical insurance and daily snacks” should significantly make up for any wage gaps. I was told this by the VP. They said that they were not accepting my resignation, & would give me a few days to reconsider (after offering me a .75 cent pay raise. I gave them 2 days, then declined. The next day I came to work & my badge didn’t work. No managers would speak to me, and IT was confused on why my access to the building was removed. I’m in Florida, btw.
This is already happening, isn’t it?
I have been working at take 5 oil change for about 10 months now. Last night I was up sick and called out of work. I later got a call saying I cam show up or be terminated. I'm showing up with a doctors note and leaving right after. Is there any course of action I can take towards my leadership for them essentially forcing Me to come into work knowing I'm sick?
I’m 21 and scared for the future.
Prices are going up like crazy. $15 an hour isn’t enough. I get treated like shit by both my boss and customers on the daily. Cost of housing is just insane how can anyone afford this? What are we doing to fix the issue? I see a lot of talk about these situations that very much effect all of us. I’m 21 and super scared. I don’t know what’s going to happen and especially how I’m going to set myself up for success. The most I’m doing right now is working a minimum wage job, going to school for a degree in computer science and I’m not sure if that’s even the right path for me. It’s just a living hell, going to work just to be yelled at all day and then come home to work on homework for the next 2-6 hours and then go to sleep, wake…
About 30% of the fuel burnt turns into work done. Do expect a person to work more efficiently than your car?
I know it’s probably in their handbook, but why not coach and train the manager? What could you do differently, how can you better handle the situation in the future… big lots is shitty, but still.
