I enjoy learning about history. It's really neat to see the fall and rise of empires. And one thing that is always in common is the sheer greed of the ruling classes and major wealth discrepancies. It always leads to the death of those in charge and destruction of those in that class, followed by chaos for everybody else, no matter what. Don't the ruling classes see the anger growing amongst people? Don't they understand that we are coming to a breaking point? All that remains is a spark, a bit of leadership, hope and for us to stop being so divisive over stupid things. You can only push people so far and when people cannot afford a good life, they will fight back. People people die and empires crumble. Once we are so desperate, we will fight to the death because there is no alternatives. Right now, we are…
Month: April 2023
one of my coworkers shared this post. i can’t help but wonder why this man needs a gofundme if he has a job. do they not have good healthcare coverage? it’s like a slap on the face for this vp to post this instead of providing adequate healthcare to his employees in the first place.
A company I used to work for decided to consolidate three technical writing groups under one manager. An out-of-state person was selected to be the new manager, and he started flying in every two weeks to whip us into shape. He got off on the wrong foot with us, making wrong assumptions and being condescending. Some of the writers looked for other jobs. Within a month half the group had resigned or transferred to other groups in the company. After six of the 12 writers had left, I drew a large thermometer on the whiteboard in our conference room. I put 12 lines on the thermometer and colored the bottom half of the thermometer with red marker. Next to each of the bottom six lines, I wrote the name of one of the six writers who had left — in the order they left. There were six unlabeled lines left.…
The reason they gave for announcing so early was “transparency”, but it feels like the real reason is to get people to quit so they don’t have to pay out unemployment. This just added so much stress and uncertainty to all the employees’ lives. I’m looking for a new job already. Maybe it’s what they want but oh well.
I was recording my dispatch time for a client and how long we charged them. He explained “we gotta be more disciplined about this. This is how we justify if what we're paying you is justified” I'm an IT who gets paid $19/hr in CA. The panda express new hires get $17.50/hr. We're getting exploited and they have the balls to say this?!??!
However company policy means calling in will give you a 1 point attendance violation; 10 within 1 year means termination. How can companies expect people to not come to work when sick when they at the same time threaten to fore them for it
New resignation method just dropped
It was my mistake that it was not in writing for the initial change of role and the performance review. Is there any point getting into lawsuit? nothing officially has been signed. I know quitting is an option, a strong one, base on how i am treated. I am still looking forward for the said raise because it is a significant increase (~60%). If I act my wage of the promoted position, can I work on a deal with the time adjusted until the salary is adjusted? I think I've answered myself, but I still wanted to rant…
