They threaten to fire me if I don’t start doing more work I said well give me some things to do they say “pick up a broom” or “wipe things down” like sir I just did that for two hours straight. Either way they know I’m gonna be pretending to do useless shit cuz there’s literally nothing to do so why not just let me sit down

I’m quitting my shitty tire job Friday
Y’all think I should tell them now or just do it on Friday? They aren’t getting a two weeks, I gotta get out and do something better with my life than sweating out my soul for “just paying the bills” money (Yes finances would be covered if I quit)
Anyone else confused about child labor?
It’s not uncommon to see a news story of something along the lines “Parent can’t afford to buy gifts for Christmas, little Timmy, her son, decided he had to sell lemonade to make it happen” and the story is hailed as something heart warming and positive. In reality, we should be downright ashamed that our society & government let a family reach such a point. Then, even in some cases, they will request people donate to a go-fund me! Sorry if this is disjointed & a rough draft; it’s just something that I thought about while doing the dishes that really irked me.
Just really need to vent. In 2021 I was a year into this job when all of a sudden all the coworkers who started before me except for 1 started quitting. It’s a small company maybe 10 people in our department max but soon it was just me and 1 other person. I stayed long hours pulling doubles, working by myself most shifts, extra days same with the other person. Job isn’t hard but the bosses don’t know the grunt work I would’ve felt guilty leaving And even when we got more people hired we had to take the time to train them. My coworker any I got a puny promotion like a $2 raise for helping keep this place afloat. And you know what I was content until that boss retired This new boss doesn’t appreciate me. She likes the other lead and newer people better. Shit she even…
The first 2 days this happened they paid me for the full day because it wasn't my fault she lost the badge but now they are just telling me not to come in basically until she gets a new badge. And she doesn't even know if she wants to get one because it's $110. She is the only trainer on this shift it's literally just me and her. I'm still waiting for my badge to come in the time for that varies because of the background check.. I know no work is being done but I still feel like I should be compensated for this because it's not my fault she fucked up, luckily this is my 2nd job but if this was my main source of income I'd be fucked at the moment.. Do they have to pay me?
Lost a great job to idiots.
I got a internet technician job last Monday installing internet and troubleshooting at people's houses. Thats after 2 months of searching for a job. Its a really nice job $19 an hour full benefits free internet everybody was super nice at the building they give you all your clothes you need pay $50 towards your phone bill and help you repair your phone if it ever broke and company truck, 21 pto and 1 week sick pto plus lots more. Well the roads here in Idaho aren't properly labeled and one of the roads goes from 55 to 35 and the GPS picks it up before you see the sign so it said that I went 21 miles over the speed limit so the chuckleheads in the main office in Phoenix Arizona saw that I went 21 miles over the speed limit and fired me my boss tried to keep…
Office with camera
So I work for a MSP and do IT for a onsite client. I have my own office with privacy. I get to lock my door and see who is coming down the hallway as well. A few months ago cameras were installed all around the office. And you bet the higher ups watch those monitors like hawks. Apparently my office will be used for a higher end user, so ill be kicked out and moved to another location- possibly a location with a camera looking at me. This makes me very uncomfortable. I personally refuse to work in a space where there is a camera on me 24/7 watching my every move.
Literally as the title states. Ive outlined recently to management that a member of staff has had 6 instances of sickness and they've been in the company for 4 months. Our process is usually 3 instances of sickness in 6 months and they go through disciplinary process….. so had this all highlighted and the manager has pushed back and said no they don't want the employees sickness investigated to head towards disciplinary due the persons mental health. (To add i know about their mental health and its not a high risk concern) I've raised that 6 is still high and if it was anyone else they would be going through investigation, everyone should be treated equally and fairly. The manager is still sticking to their guns, so where the hell do i go from here? To add we've also given disciplinaries to staff for less than 6 instances of sickness,…
I work as a lifeguard making close to minimum wage. At my pool between the hours of 8pm-9pm we never have any people come to the swim. Some nights we close early and go home at about 8:15 (we have no boss to tell us otherwise because the company doesn’t want to pay for someone to be pool-operator certified at our pool). My coworkers wait until 9pm to clock out even though they left early too. A higher-up just emailed me and is badgering me wanting to know why I’ve been clocking out early; this is the first time anyone from the company has given a fuck about anything that goes on at this pool. They usually act like we don’t exist, now all of a sudden they give a fuck that I am clocking out early. My best guess is that they’re trying to catch my coworkers for time…
