So I finally quit! Let me rewind…. I wasnt working since 2020( i was focusing on content creation) it did not work out, but i got married recently and my wife helped and motivated me to get a steady job. So i finally got a job as a associate manager in a company when i start my work i get a lot of reality checks, the owners look down upon the employees, there is constant name calling ,and abusive words being called to us. No holidays even when i was sick, she said you need to work till you are dead and maybe after that too. I was planning to quit after my first salary, but i guess god had other plans, my dog fell a little sick and i had to take care of him so i told her since the work is getting affected because of me( i…

When you have sick time….but
So here's a good one, I've been at my current job for 9 months, when they hired me I told them about my medical issues and no issue. In April, I missed a week due to illness, kept them in the loop and had Dr note. I have doctors appointments occasionally as well for said medical condition. So, I had a rare issue about 1.5 weeks ago, lost my voice, and it took a few days to get in at my specialist. Returned to work this past Wednesday to the lovely write up for missing 3 days, due to not having a Dr note yet. Got Dr. Note and was told, oh yea write up still stands because your absences are excessive….first time I heard that. Gotta love when your employer knows you have a rare medical condition, and that you also can't qualify for FMLA yet. /Rant
Came across this job listing on Indeed (redacted some irrelevant info for privacy). I technically don't qualify because of some of their criteria but even if I did, hell nah. I've seen better written gig advertisements on backpage
Gamble paid off.
Started this summer with a small paving company. Under 10 people in the crew. I had done asphalt paving before and knew it was hard work but it wasn't too bad because the hours weren't that crazy. Company had seen better days and the people that owned it were just squeezing out as much as they could while neglecting equipment, workers and being as cheap as possible. Crew still worked like it was the 80's and they had nothing to show for it despite doing it for a long time. One day the foreman got one of my co-workers to inform me I would be fired if I didn't show more initiative so they would give me one more week to prove myself. The previous day was a slow day for the whole crew as it was mostly just finishing touches on of a large 3-day job we did so…
Here something I realized this week and which shall be my new way of thinking from now on. Hope it shakes up something in yourself and realized your potential and self worth. I am X, I am the apex predator of my wellness, happiness and self worth. No one shall ever push me over my limit. I am X, I am worth more than making profits for an employer that doesn't give a shit about me. I am X I work my ass off and make sacrifice to move forward in my life. I am X and nothing again will ever stop me from going forward. If your offer is making me going backwards or stagnant I will not tolerate this bullshit. I am X and you better fucking convince me with everything you've got to make me consider using MY TIME to listen to you. Don't like it, I…
So I'm working for a popular auto parts store. I'm at the front counter constantly helping customers. I have an assistant manager who is barely there. Most of the time he's either out in his truck or in the bathroom. He will show up 2 hours late and leave an hour early too. I've talked to the manager and the district manager and nothing has been done about his behavior. Meanwhile there are regular employees who will be punished for taking time off to go and handle things at home. It's an incredibly frustrating situation and I feel as though I have no power over it. Everybody is sick of the guy and he's even told me, “I don't need to be working here, I make more money wrenching on race cars and mobile mechanic work”. Even with my very first month with the company I've made more profits from…

Returning employer equipment?
I quit my WFH job last week. I have their computer, 2 monitors, keyboard, and mouse. I emailed HR the day I quit (Mon) from my personal email asking for a shipping label, and they replied that it was my responsibility to cover the shipping. This doesn’t seem right to me. Why should I pay to return their shit to them?
Im 27(M) and have been working warehouse jobs for about 5 years. Within these 5 years i have worked at several different warehouses for 3-6 months each. Theres been 2 warehouse jobs that ive stayed at for at least a year. Im someone who doesnt put up with bullshit and once i feel like a company isnt where i want to be at, ill find somewhere else to go immediately. I start a new job tomorrow and given the environment im gonna be in i am already applying for a new job. Ive heard from ppl older than me how bad it is to be moving from job to job, but i dont really see why. Im a good worker and have always had great attendance. If anything these jobs werent good enough for me. Im just wondering, is this a bad mentality to have? Im getting older now and…
My colleague is really great at his job. I got the same job recently (there are two of us), and we WFH 3 days a week, in office 2. I come from an office background, he doesn’t. Thing is he calls ALL THE TIME for EVERY LITTLE THING. And it’s driving me nuts. He will often call and I’ll pickup and say “hey?” And he goes “what’s up?” And I’ll respond “you called me, what’s up?” And he’ll say “nothing much, just going through emails”. That or he’ll call and rant about work. Non stop. And I’ve told him bluntly a million times, I don’t care. He’s about 10 years older than me and also a SUPER social guy – he loves to just chat with EVERYBODY on the phone and hates texting. Our job DOES have emergency situations arise, and I’m still fairly new, so I always pickup when…
