I don't know if this is a rant or an opinion so i let you decide. The rich have money which they could't spend in dozen lifetimes. So they don't have to be crushed in long and hard work days and loose their health when they are in retirement age or even sooner. They can live off the most healthy food there is and get the best medical treatment science has to offer and with money they can pretty much solve all problems and live nearly stress-free. Today i have time off so i decided to ride with the bicycle in this summer day when nearly everybody of us folks are at work or school or whatnot. Naturally i didn't see many people on the streets. So it crossed my mind that rich folks can enjoy life as they please with their obscene wealth. This made me jealous. Even if…

ghosted at interview
no one shows up on zoom, im there from 10 minutes early until the end of the timeframe. called, no answer. gave it some time, get an email that night saying they've selected the candidate. i email the director of HR in my area directly and I get a call to come in for another interview. when they call me, the woman over the phone said they couldn't access the interview due to 'technical difficulties'. for the second interview, the lady mentioned a store location but i wasn't 100% sure where the interview would be, so i called & had to leave a voicemail with my name, number, and explaining that i was just going to assume the location otherwise. sure enough, i show up & the interview is actually at another location, 17 minutes away. this is a job i got laid off from with no notice from one…
Please See Resume
When they give you an application alongside a resume request
Amongst the other things of course…
So I just started working at a small company in the netherlands. There are only about 5 people here. We have lockers but they can't be locked, so everyone could access it. They want me to put my phone in there… but my bank pass and drivers licence is in it aswell. I told them I that I dislike the idea of leaving my valuable stuff unsupervised. They just told me that I should do it anyway and nobody will steal from my locker. I don't know these people so I'm not sure whether to trust them. Do I have the right to refuse? I don't need my phone at work, but I don't want to risk getting it stoleb. Not sure what to do in this situation.
Seriously, the amount of middle managers I have encountered in by 15+ years of professional life is astounding. Most of them are absolute brainlets who have no idea how to manage people, and have an insanely heightened sense of superiority. The job I work, I do 4 day shifts working frontline in social services for 90k a year. These guys (middle managers) are taking positions to work 5 days for 75-80k, so taking a huge paycut just so they can waste time in meetings where nothing actually gets done and they just circle jerk each other with phrases like “let’s circle back to that”. I have come to believe that all these middle management types were the kind of losers in school who were either; 1. Horrifically snarky hall monitor types, or 2; kids who were bullied relentlessly. Surely these types aren’t just in my industry? It boggles the mind…
Advice please.
I wrote an email requesting a pay rise coupled with promotion. My director agreed and advised that GM wanted me to complete a training. I applied for the training, was accepted, then later told I was withdrawn. Again this happened a second time. Found out today from HR, that the training is not available until I am a red band manager. Yet I cannot be made that band until I complete the training. Have a meeting with my director and HR director tomorrow to discuss. Already 6 weeks have passed since my initial communication about salary and role change. My question:. How do I best go about this. In my mind I wanted the increases to happen already, and not my fault the training is not made available.
