Hi everyone! First I want to say thank you so much for all of your responses and feedback. The reason for all this is to help others navigate difficult work environments and provide them with the same support I am given. If you would like to see the original post here is the link for it: https://www.reddit.com/r/antiwork/comments/15pg3py/coworker_i_met_for_the_first_time_said_to_me_ive/ I wanted to remind everyone of some context, and provide additional context before I tell you any updates. First, this is a small business. There is one person who does HR. That person's spouse told me “I've heard of you, you are your boss's bitch, and also this person's bitch”. This was said while on a boat during a work event during regular business hours. I literally couldn't leave. Second, my boss, the HR person, and the spouse are all in their 60s and have worked together at this small business for 20+…

Can I get made redundant??
So, I have been employed at a large publicly listed company in Australia for a little over 3 years. Over that time my job has changed quite a bit. For a little over a year and a half my job has morphed into a senior role of “x and y”, although my title has remained as an ” assistant”. I am recognized by colleagues as a senior which I think is important to this story. I have raised this with my manager and he has said that they were working to fix it, however nothing has come from this. Recently a coworker has moved on from their senior role of “z” and their role was replaced, their title was changed to be “senior of x,y and z” (x and y being my responsibilities). I spoke to my manager about this and he has said that my tasks won't change and…
Same shit diff….not today satan
I quit my job at a security company today. I was asked to attend what would be my 3rd meeting in less than a month. I’ve only been with the company 9 months at this point. Ever since the first meeting where I was yelled at by the company president for trying to explain something he misunderstood, I have had horrible anxiety attacks going into work every morning. I went into the 2nd meeting with hopes of it not going the same way. Boy was I wrong. Mr. company president nearly jumped out of his chair yelling at me for saying “I don’t understand the problem if my customers are happy”. Another meeting was scheduled for this morning. I texted my supervisor and told him I am coming in to drop off my vehicle, work clothes, and equipment. Signed a letter of resignation and left with a huge weight lifted…
So I went on Glassdoor to see salaries for my position at my company, it is a large one. Whenever you login, it wants you to put your salary in there. I am wondering if I should inflate it, like add 20%, so that way if any of my coworkers check, it shows that someone is making quite a bit more than actual, so they feel undervalued, so they ask for raises, etc etc etc etc. Thoughts? What if everyone started doing this?
Ive only ever been unemployed for a short time (4 weeks back in 2012). Thats because the facility i was working at had to shutdown for seismic upgrades. Ironically I only got to draw one partial unemployment check. I work in the petrochemical industry and the scope of my job is changing. Not to mention I've been working out of state for the last year. So how can I quit and still collect unemployment until I find another job?
Just got chewed out by my boss for not contacting his boss about being locked out of my accounts. Tried to explain that I've already brought it up to him, since he's my immediate supervisor, and that he should have sent an email to his boss if that's what needed to happen. For context, I can't send emails (locked out of everything lol) and his boss is gone before I get off work. He keeps telling me I should just gone and talked to him but I'm working. Anytime I'm not working, his boss is gone, and I can't contact him any other way. Even my coworker (who's a very close friend) is saying I'm in the wrong for not getting it taken care of. I'm super confused because when I brought up that I'm locked out of my accounts, that was me trying to get it taken care of.…
Hello I am a general manager for a gas station owned by a very large corporation. Recently I had two associates with the same title and responsibilities find out they are not compensated equally. I approched my district manager to ask for a raise for one of the employees to match their compensations. He was upset and ask how they found out and that it is against company policy for them to discuss wages and even said it is in the handbook that we signed. He said he has terminated people in the past for this and has threatened to do the same with these two. Is this a labor law violation? What should I do from here?
I'm currently working for a branch of a really large company. This branch used to be great, the top performing and best employee rating, all that jazz. But management let that all get into their heads and started to treat people poorly. Denied promotions for arbitrary reasons while still expecting them to do the work. Pitting employees against each other in reviews. Taking on more and more clients while not increasing headcount. And so people started to quit, and by the time someone new was hired, two more had quit, and so on. Eventually it got to a stage where there was never any training or resources available for long term employees as they were all given to new hires, and because you couldn't get training, you couldn't get promotions. And so the cycle kept going. That was a year ago, and I kept holding on on the chance things…
Just the title. Its day 3 now and I'm just so stressed already and my body is already hurting.
