I work in a small sales office with about 6 people for a mom-and-pop shop. The sales manager has been shaming me about my performance to other employees and to the business owner's themselves. We differ on most sales tactics and ethics, despite I my top sales numbers. The owner of the business sees the numbers and sees no problem. The sales manager has been slandering my name in private to other employees. This was exposed to me by my own boss and other coworkers. A few weeks ago, I walked out when my boss reprimanded me for being late by 4 minutes. He openly yelled how I am always late and don't do my job properly. I work in a grocery store and am the fresh cut lead. It’s a smaller store but we do well in sales and my department does a good chunk of the sales. We started it small a year ago but now we have a huge shelf with more items and I’m the only one for it. Due to bad corporate decisions they can’t get more hours or hire help. Keeping up with the production as well as the lead responsibilities I don’t have the time to have the shelves full with back stock of product. I have to cut and package and label on top of ordering organizing and cleaning. I have told my manager time and time again this is at least a 2 person job. So, my boss usually accommodated my schedule so I can do work that brings in money for our organization, specifically our location. It was nice while it lasted, I guess. I had heard rumors he was going to give his buddy my responsibilities so they can work it and get the money. I received my schedule and noticed that my schedule did not reflect the responsibilities and asked. My immediate supervisor didn't even know. He let me know that they are going to have other individuals absorb the workload–translation, their buddy. My supervisor was only CC'd on his reply. I’m honestly extremely upset and confused. I’m in such desperate need of a job right now that I need to take the position either way, but I feel extremely misled and lied to. I initially applied to this position on indeed, the position being a Team Member at a higher end fast food chain, and they stated that they have competitive wages that START at $15.50 and go up to $17, with higher wages being offered based on previous fast food experience. I’ve been working in the food service industry since 2019, and on my resume I have a fast food position, a server position at a restaurant, and a cashier/barista position at a quick service type of restaurant. My company just had an in-person meeting that everyone (a few thousand people) was required to attend. Well, everyone except the CEO, apparently. He was allowed to video conference in… but he didn't even do that. The first 3rd of the meeting was the COO bragging on how our production is up this year, even though last year was intentionally planned to be a low-production year while we upgraded and replaced a bunch of equipment and processes. The second 3rd of the meeting was all about vehicle safety with talks from multiple people who were victims of or witnessed serious traffic wrecks on their way to and from work. My fiancé (F31) and I (M37) have been talking about a career change for myself for awhile now. Before, I used to work in law enforcement and security, but it was pointed out by a few people that I did not seem happy at all during it. My fiancé said I should get back into something with food. I went from working anywhere from 25-29 hours a week (couldn't be more than 29 hours a week to keep me from being “full time” but was always schedule the most fucked shifts (like 1 pm to 5 pm or 11 am to 4 pm) to keep me from being able to find a full time, better-paying job. I door dash on the side, give plasma when I can. Now I've been cut to 14 to 16 hours per week. Sorry for the long one. Was working a gig as a production assistant for an out of state non-union photo shoot. Hadn’t don’t non-union in a while but since the strike needed to look elsewhere. Big client and the producer was not good and micro managing. My job was to drive a 15 passenger van from NYC and back each day, along with help out on set and go on runs. First day ends in chaos they end up having to put me in a hotel because my other option was the metro north which they offered to pay for but not travel time (which I would’ve been paid for driving the van).
