I was working for a medical office for ten years before they let me go two months ago. Over the course of those years, in total, I was only given a $3.40 raise. I asked for a raise in April 2022 and the next day I was let go due to “financial hardships” the company was facing and “being in a cost effective savings mode”. Even though a month before in March, Admin stated every employee was getting a raise. And now that I was let go, I heard people did get raises, up to a $10 raise…
I’m on the hunt for a new job. I’m curious, when I get an interview will they ask me what my wages were at the previous employer? I plan on putting what I feel I should have been getting paid. I worked my ass off for that company, just for them to fuckin fire me the next day after I asked for a raise. This was the first time I have ever asked for a raise too.
So much for loyalty to a company. It’s non existent.
