4 interviews …

I applied for this job mainly for the slight increase in salary. They screen me through a consultant who reviews my experience, philosophy, and desired work culture. They proceed to schedule me for 4 interviews with different levels of the organization. I had to take time off from work and use vacation time. In the first interview they tell me about a similar position that is also open and ask me my opinion. I let them know both interest me. The following three interviews they ask me which one I am more interested in. I answer honestly and they give hints they think the other one is a good fit for me , why bring it up and ask then ? First red flag. They then tell me how there work culture needs a shift and they expect everyone to work in person 8.5 hours. This is a manager position…

This is a manager position with loads of paperwork. Second red flag.

They then have a team interview with positions that would be supervised by the position I am applying for. When I asked how they would describe their work culture one of the supervises says we have a great team who will cover shifts on call outs and when understaffed. Third red flag.

Then this consultant calls me and lets me know they have bad news with a silver lining. They don’t want to hire me in the position I applied for and want more experience. I have 5 more years then their advertisement asked for. Then this guy offers me a job that is 3 rungs below my current position. Try to hold in my laugh and let him know I am licensed in the field and have more experience then what they asked for. End it cordially.

If experience was the issue why didn’t they know the minute I sent them my resume. Why waste all of our time. Clearly it was something else and I just wish I could get the vacation time back.
