Menards worker

I just ran into the little old lady (menards employee) in the hardware Dept who I’ve interacted with for several years. She’s worked for Menards for more than 14 years. As of two years ago before Covid, she was only making $12.85 an hour. Now they had to raise to the bare minimum that they’re advertising which is like $14 an hour. She’s been with them for over a decade and this is what she gets. She talked about the fact that she’ll be able to retire in another year at 65. It’s so sad that she can’t understand that she needs to go elsewhere to even make a little bit more money. But she’s so close to retirement any savings she has, would probably not go with her. In that instant I remembered why I usually go elsewhere. Other big box stores pay their employees better. Not much. But…
