Passed by a big block and a half of backup today. The only event was people deciding to go to Costco at the same time.
I remembered that several salary workers and people receiving benefits get paid today and it's also a Friday. Basically everyone is stocking up today or this weekend. The fact that people aren't paid daily means grocery stores can plan when artificial rushes happen and raise prices accordingly. Wait a week if you can – there might be more sales next week and it will relieve pressure on people living paycheck to paycheck who have less choice when to shop.
