As the title says, the bathroom at my job doesn’t work. The problem has been identified multiple times by multiple plumbing companies and yet they have not fixed it. Our company says the mall has to do it. The mall says our company has to do it. They both are refusing to fix it. I contacted HR they told me to put in a maintenance request. They just keep throwing us through loops. I can’t seem to find the info on how working in a mall affects the rules around requiring a working bathroom at work. This has been going on since i started working here a year ago. At first it worked but I was told to not flush toilet paper, but to throw it away. Yes nasty I know. They put in a high pressure toilet as a bandaid about three months ago it lasted a week or so and now it is completely un-operational. The toilet doesn’t flush we have been told the issue is that there is a dip and/or burst in the pipe causing backups and whatnot. Another factor is that we are required to have 2 people in store at all times. Usually we only have 2 people scheduled for the day so the company is forcing us to break policy and cause safety issues for the employee left alone. Not to mention health issues from constantly having to hold our pee. What can I do to pressure them into fixing our toilet without loosing my job?!
